The Spirit gives power to do just as Jesus said it would

Acts does not stop at enthusiasm. The power of the Spirit is not a momentary altar call

The Power to Proclaim assumes there’s something worth hearing

E- Four signs of the Church

Devoted to Teaching

The Spirit moves us from knowing about Jesus to doing like Jesus, but we must nevertheless start with knowing about Jesus

Right doctrine and right practice are not mutually exclusive

Are we devoted to teaching?

Devoted to Fellowship (κοινωνια)

κοινωνια from the Greek root that means “to share” or “to have in common”.

Fellowship is more than a pot luck, it means what’s mine is yours.

Are we devoted to Fellowship?

Devoted to Breaking Bread

You are what you eat: food was a status symbol then as it is now

“Breaking bread” means true brotherhood and equality among believers.

Are we devoted to breaking bread?

Devoted to Prayer

Prayer is being bold enough to hold God to his promises

Prayer is not timid; it expects results

Prayer is transformative: we begin to speak as God speaks, and our hearts become as God’s heart

Are we devoted to prayer?

Are we devoted, or merely busy?
