Let’s Go To Judea

John 11:7 AV
Then after that saith he to his disciples, Let us go into Judaea again.
After 2 days of staying on the other side of the Jordan
The disciples are convinced that Jesus is doing the right thing by staying
at the end of chapter 10
John 10:39 AV
Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand,
the earlier in 10
John 10:31 AV
Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
John 8:59 AV
Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
Jesus was purposely antagonizing the Jewish leadership
then backing away
to come again, prepping them for the Crucifixion
so Jesus and His disciples were staying out of rock throwing range
and to them, this was common sense
Jesus says lets go to Judea
he wants the disciples to understand the fact that they are going into dangerous place
Jesus is always teaching His men, testing them
how much do you trust Me?
are you willing to go into danger with me?
John 11:8 AV
His disciples say unto him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest thou thither again?
Time is getting short now
probably less than a month to Passover, when He will be put to death
So He is going to go raise Lazarus from the dead, make the leaders put out an APB on Jesus
arrest on sight we cannot let Him live
But we and the Disciples have a lesson to learn here

Time

Jesus then says some thing that is weird
John 11:9 AV
Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.
what? What are you talking about?
we said the Judeans want to kill you, and you say if you walk in the daylight you can see where you are going?
if my boss replied with that answer i would walk away scratching my head
and for the rest of the day try to reason out what he was saying
so lets think about what Jesus said, what do we know
Jesus wants to go back to Judea
Lazarus is there and dying, or already dead
The Jews want to kill Him
we know that He will be crucified on Passover
Jesus on many occasions have said my time has not come
The time of His Death
God is in control
There is a Divine time line
He said “are there not 12 hours in the day”?
We have an appointed time
Jesus had an appointed time to live/ die
nothing could change that
if you are a child of God you also have an appointed time
our Day/Life has a set time by God,and no one but God can change that.
someone else’s plotting against you will not happen
deadly car crash on the ice wont happen
you being killed by the corona virus
looters coming to your house, dying in a fire, drowning,
Unless your appointed day is over.
The hype over this corona virus has frightened us into doing weird things
If we are in control we need to be fearful
we might eat the wrong foods - go to the wrong place, make angry the wrong person. ect..
and no one can stop you.
but if we are in control
Who is in control, are you living by faith, or common sense?
2
use your time for Godly work
there is a set time to do what God wants us to do
there is a set time of our lives
a passage that is fit for days like these is..
Esther 4:14 NKJV
For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
Esther was put by God in the palace for the reason of protecting her people
we the same are put in this time and place to do a mission for Jesus
but there is only 12 hours of day to do it in
we want to be able to stand before our Groom and have Him say “well done”
so what is taking up those 12 hours of the day, do you have 18 hours of work to do?
so what in God’s perspective must go away?
is there something crowding out the work you have been called to do?
maybe it a good thing , but not the best thing
time now is very short, as we look around we see the rapture getting close and you are here for such a time as this.
3
wasted time
There is only 12 hours in the day
how much time in the day is wasted on tv, internet, golf, fishing...
Ephesians 5:16 AV
Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
this life is but a puff of steam in the air
what is important to you?
this short life or eternity?
on the contrary lets look at the night

Night Time

John 11:9–10 AV
Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world. But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him.
Jesus has said that He was the light of the world
John 8:12 AV
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
Jesus is speaking here of someone who is not a believer, someone who is not saved
they are stumbling in the darkness
no moon in the woods every root , rock, fallen tree, shrub becomes danger
trip and fall hurt yourselves
don’t know where you are going, lost and confused
Without Jesus, we are in darkness
but here is the problem..
John 3:19–20 NKJV
And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.
people love the darkness
and because they love the darkness ,they don’t want to come to the light
they love their evil deeds,
one of the descriptions that Jesus has for Hell is “outer Darkness”
Matthew 22:13 AV
Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
a darkness so thick nothing can be seen, forever
do you love your darkness so much, that you want to spend eternity there
come to the light
again
John 3:16–21 AV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
don’t let the darkness swallow you up.
talk to Jesus about it
