Intro – Trust the Father
Intro – Trust the Father
· Many people have a difficult time comprehending God as a Father Who loves and cares for them. They have the idea that God is like a judge who sits up in Heaven and looks for a chance to punish them the moment they make a mistake.
Father Knows Best How to LOVE
Father Knows Best How to LOVE
· Church needs this badly – too many times we appear to the world as stiff, cold, silent, clannish, uncaring and unconcerned.
· As a result, people will look for what passes as love in other places – even if it is a distorted version of love – bars, social clubs, “the wrong crowd”, even gangs.
· The FIRST place (and the MAIN place) that children should find love is in the HOME! From the DAD!
16 So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
· We need to KNOW God’s love – it is a PROCESS of WALKING, TALKING and SPENDING QUALITY TIME with God, getting to KNOW God as our Father. (starting with the parents, and also reflected in the grandparents).
· What is in you will come out!
· The more of the Father’s love is IN you, will be shed abroad to the world!
· Our kids should be able to rate their parents love for them a 10 out of 10!
· But even the most loving parents cannot match the perfect love of God the Father.
· No knows how to love more the God Himself – we are to reflect His love as closely as possible. The more we live in Christ, the more of His love will shine through the family, the church and society.
Jesus Portrayed the Father
Jesus Portrayed the Father
· In the Gospels Jesus always portrayed God as a loving Father.
27 for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God.

7 “And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words.
8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
· We can be sure of this one fact: As we trust God with our lives, He will take a Father’s place and perform a Father’s part in our lives.
· He is our Father, and Jeremiah 31:3 says He loves us and cares for us with an everlasting love.
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?
28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin,
29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
