Give it Up! Your Bucks!

I. Give Up Your Funds

Proverbs 3:9 NKJV
9 Honor the Lord with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase;
Honor the Lord with thy substance
How do I honor the LORD with my substance?

A. Give It to the LORD

Malachi 3:8–10 NKJV
8 “Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, ‘In what way have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings. 9 You are cursed with a curse, For you have robbed Me, Even this whole nation. 10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.

B. Give It to the Leaders

1 Corinthians 9:7–14 NKJV
7 Who ever goes to war at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat of its fruit? Or who tends a flock and does not drink of the milk of the flock? 8 Do I say these things as a mere man? Or does not the law say the same also? 9 For it is written in the law of Moses, “You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain.” Is it oxen God is concerned about? 10 Or does He say it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written, that he who plows should plow in hope, and he who threshes in hope should be partaker of his hope. 11 If we have sown spiritual things for you, is it a great thing if we reap your material things? 12 If others are partakers of this right over you, are we not even more? Nevertheless we have not used this right, but endure all things lest we hinder the gospel of Christ. 13 Do you not know that those who minister the holy things eat of the things of the temple, and those who serve at the altar partake of the offerings of the altar? 14 Even so the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should live from the gospel.
1 Timothy 5:17–18
17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.
18 For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.

C. Give It to the Less-fortunate

Deuteronomy 15:10–11 NKJV
10 You shall surely give to him, and your heart should not be grieved when you give to him, because for this thing the Lord your God will bless you in all your works and in all to which you put your hand. 11 For the poor will never cease from the land; therefore I command you, saying, ‘You shall open your hand wide to your brother, to your poor and your needy, in your land.’
Proverbs 19:17 NKJV
17 He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, And He will pay back what he has given.

II. Give It Up First

9 Honor the Lord . . . with the first-fruits of all thine increase
A. Shows God has Provided
phil 4.19
B. Shows God has Priority
First place
C. Shows it is God’s Property
Deuteronomy 14:22 Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year.
Malachi 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be meat in mine house, And prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, If I will not open you the windows of heaven, And pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
.
Malachi 1:6 A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: If then I be a father, where is mine honour? And if I be a master, where is my fear? Saith the Lord of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?
When you honor Him He will Honor you
1 Samuel 2:30 . . . for them that honor me I will honor
When you honor Him through your Worship
He will give you HOPE to handle the handicaps of life
He will give you SUPPORT to handle the situations of life
He will give you COMFORT to handle the complexities of life
When you honor Him through your Work
He will give you POWER to face the pressures of life
… DETERMINATION to face the difficulties of life
… WISDOM to face the weary work of life
How do I know? Because
Ecclesiastes 2:26 For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he giveth travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit.
When you honor Him through your Walk
He will give you COURAGE to face the crises of life
… PEACE to face the problems of life
… FAITH to face the fears in life
When you honor Him through your Wealth
He will COMPENSATE us for our CHARITY
… GIFT us for our GENEROSITY
… BLESS us for our BOUNTY
How do I know? Look at
Leviticus 26:4 Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, And thy presses shall burst out with new wine.
Full refrigerator
Full freezer
Full shopping cart
Full storage building
Full house
Full pockets
So
Don’t just honor Him with your lips!
Don’t just honor the Lord with your life!
Don’t just honor the Lord with your labor!
Don’t just honor the Lord with your loot!
Don’t just give the Lord some honor. Give Him all the honor!
Give Him your lips and your life and your labor and your loot!
Don’t limit your honor to Sunday but honor Him on Monday, Tuesday, etc.
Don’t limit your honor to the church building but honor Him at your home, your job, your school, at the store, at the park, etc.
Give Him All the Honor because Christ gave You All!
He gave His lips because He taught with authority and not like the Scribes and Pharisees. said “Blessed are you, when men shall revile you and persecute you and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice and be exceeding glad for great is your reward in heaven.
He gave His labor because He said “I must work the work of Him that sent me because when night cometh no man can work.”
He gave His life because He said “No man takes my life but I lay it down.”
He gave His loot because Now we have all spiritual blessings in heavenly places.
His home is our home
His possessions are now our possessions
His riches are now our riches
