BLIND LIGHT AND DARKNESS BELIEF-THOSE WHO BELIEVE AND THOSE WHO DON'T, WHAT ABOUT THOSE WHO SAY THEY BELIEVE BUT THEY REALLY DON'T BELIEVE? MATHEW 21:28 TWO SONS DO GO TO CHURCH, DON'T GO, -TELL MY STORY, I DID NOT UNTIL I DID- IT'S A STORY OF BEING BLIND, BUT NOW I SEE, THE REAL ISSUE IS WHEN YOU THINK YOU SEE, BUT THE LIGHT YOU SEE IS ACTUALLY DARKNESS, THEN HOW GREAT WILL THE DARKNESS BE ? ITS HARD TO REASON WITH SOMEONE WHEN THEY SAY THEY SEE, WHEN IN FACT THEY ARE BLIND,ONLY THE TRUTH WILL REVEAL THEY WALK IN DARKNESS, JESUS IS THE TRUTH- WORSHIP DEFINITION adoration or devotion comparable to religious homage, shown toward a person or principle: LETS LOOK AT TWO STORIES OF BEING BLIND-THE FIRST STORY HAPPENS 50 YEARS AFTER THE SECOND GIVE SOME BACKGROUND-TWO SONS, FATHER ELI- 1024 BC-1 Samuel 5:2-4 NASB[2] Then the Philistines took the ark of God and brought it to the house of Dagon and set it by Dagon. THEIR PURPOSE WAS THIS, OUR god IS GREATER THAN YOUR GOD-OR SAY IT THIS WAY, BECAUSE THE ENEMY IS A DECEIVER-YOU SAY YOU WORSHIP THE ONE TRUE GOD, BUT IN FACT YOU WORSHIP ANOTHER god--? ARE YOU BLIND OR DO YOU SAY I SEE ? [3] When the Ashdodites arose early the next morning, behold, Dagon had fallen on his face to the ground before the ark of the LORD. So they took Dagon and set him in his place again. [4] But when they arose early the next morning, behold, Dagon had fallen on his face to the ground before the ark of the LORD. And the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off on the threshold; only the trunk of Dagon was left to him. It was picture, dagon was shown as defeated with a severed head, and also shown as having no real power, his hands were also cut off, THE TIME -1081BC , HIS NAME WAS SAMSON, Judges 16:4-7,10-11,13,15-17,20-21,23-28 NASB[4] After this it came about that he loved a woman in the valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah. [5] The lords of the Philistines came up to her and said to her, "Entice him, and see where his great strength lies and how we may overpower him that we may bind him to afflict him. Then we will each give you eleven hundred pieces of silver." [6] So Delilah said to Samson, "Please tell me where your great strength is and how you may be bound to afflict you." [7] Samson said to her, "If they bind me with seven fresh cords that have not been dried, then I will become weak and be like any other man." THE ENEMY WILL ALWAYS SEND A MESSENGER, THE ENEMY IS LOOKING TO TAKE YOUR STRENGTH THE ENEMY IS RELENTLESS- 3 TIMES, THEN ANNOYED TO DEATH- [10] Then Delilah said to Samson, "Behold, you have deceived me and told me lies; now please tell me how you may be bound." [11] He said to her, "If they bind me tightly with new ropes which have not been used, then I will become weak and be like any other man." THAT STATEMENT IS WHAT HAPPENS WITHOUT JESUS, [13] Then Delilah said to Samson, "Up to now you have deceived me and told me lies; tell me how you may be bound." And he said to her, "If you weave the seven locks of my hair with the web [and fasten it with a pin, then I will become weak and be like any other man." THE ENEMY WILL CONTINUES HIS ATTACK, HOPING YOU WILL GIVE UP, OR GIVE IN-HIS GOAL IS TO CREATE A SENSE OF HOPELESSNESS- [15] Then she said to him, "How can you say, 'I love you,' when your heart is not with me? You have deceived me these three times and have not told me where your great strength is." [16] It came about when she pressed him daily with her words and urged him, that his soul was annoyed to death. [17] So he told her all that was in his heart and said to her, "A razor has never come on my head, for I have been a Nazirite to God from my mother's womb. If I am shaved, then my strength will leave me and I will become weak and be like any other man." HIS REAL STRENGTH WAS RECOGNIZING WHO HE WAS IN GOD, HIS STRENGTH CAME FROM GOD-NOT FROM HIS HAIR [20] She said, "The Philistines are upon you, Samson!" And he awoke from his sleep and said, "I will go out as at other times and shake myself free." But he did not know that the LORD had departed from him. [21] Then the Philistines seized him and gouged out his eyes; and they brought him down to Gaza and bound him with bronze chains, and he was a grinder in the prison. SAMSON COULD SEE ? BUT THE LIGHT HE SAW WAS ACTUALLY DARKNESS, SO THAT THE DARKNESS THAT WAS IN HIM BECAME GREAT, SO HE LOST HIS SIGHT SO THAT HE COULD REALLY SEE, TRULY SEE Matthew 6:22-24 NASB[22] "The eye is the lamp of the body; so then if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light. [23] But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness! [24] "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth. WHILE HE WAS IN PRISION , BLIND, GRINDING, HE HAD TIME TO THINK , HE HAD TIME TO REALIZE WHERE HIS STRENGTH TRULY CAME FROM, HE WAS BOUND, BUT HIS HEART BECAME REPENTED! JESUS SAID Luke 4:16-19 NASB[16] And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up; and as was His custom, He entered the synagogue on the Sabbath, and stood up to read. [17] And the book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. And He opened the book and found the place where it was written, [18] "The SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME,BECAUSE HE ANOINTED ME TO PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR. HE HAS SENT ME TO PROCLAIM RELEASE TO THE CAPTIVES, AND RECOVERY OF SIGHT TO THE BLIND, TO SET FREE THOSE WHO ARE OPPRESSED, [19] To PROCLAIM THE FAVORABLE YEAR OF THE LORD." [23] Now the lords of the Philistines assembled to offer a great sacrifice to Dagon their god, and to rejoice, for they said, "Our god has given Samson our enemy into our hands." [24] When the people saw him, they praised their god, for they said, "Our god has given our enemy into our hands, Even the destroyer of our country, Who has slain many of us." [25] It so happened when they were in high spirits, that they said, "Call for Samson, that he may amuse us." So they called for Samson from the prison, and he entertained them. And they made him stand between the pillars. [26] Then Samson said to the boy who was holding his hand, "Let me feel the pillars on which the house rests, that I may lean against them." [27] Now the house was full of men and women, and all the lords of the Philistines were there. And about 3,000 men and women were on the roof looking on while Samson was amusing them. [28] Then Samson called to the LORD and said, "O Lord GOD, please remember me and please strengthen me just this time, O God, that I may at once be avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes." THEIR HOUSE WAS BUILT ON THE WRONG FOUNDATION-dagon-WHEN YOUR NOT BELIEVING CORERECTLY THE WORD OF GOD WILL INTERPRET YOU-CAN GODS WORD BE LIKE WATER ? John 4:10 NASB[10] Jesus answered and said to her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, 'Give Me a drink,' you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water." Revelation 19:6 NASB[6] Then I heard something like the voice of a great multitude and like the sound of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, saying, "Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns. Isaiah 6:8-10 NASB[8] Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?" Then I said, "Here am I. Send me!" [9] He said, "Go, and tell this people: 'Keep on listening, but do not perceive; Keep on looking, but do not understand.' [10] "Render the hearts of this people insensitive, Their ears dull, And their eyes dim, Otherwise they might see with their eyes, Hear with their ears, Understand with their hearts, And return and be healed." I SAID WE HAD TWO STORIES, BUT ACTUALLY THERE ARE 3- John 9:35-41 NASB[35] Jesus heard that they had put him out, and finding him, He said, "Do you believe in the Son of Man?" [36] He answered, "Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?" [37] Jesus said to him, "You have both seen Him, and He is the one who is talking with you." [38] And he said, "Lord, I believe." And he worshiped Him. [39] And Jesus said, "For judgment I came into this world, so that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may become blind." [40] Those of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these things and said to Him, "We are not blind too, are we?" [41] Jesus said to them, "If you were blind, you would have no sin; but since you say, 'We see,' your sin remains. your sin remains. Jesus had particular reference to the sin of unbelief and rejection of Him as Messiah and Son of God. If they knew their lostness and darkness and cried out for spiritual light, they would no longer be guilty of the sin of unbelief in Christ. But satisfied that their darkness was light, and continuing in rejection of Christ, their sin remained.
