God forgives you

Introduction: Tonight my main verse is;
John 3:16, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

This month we celebrate Christ’s birthday, how He came into this world to make a way for us to get to heaven.

Tonight I want each of us to remember 3 things, God loves you, God gave for you, and God forgives you.

I.       First thing I want us to look at is that God loves us.

A.    John 15:13, Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

B.    Ephesians 5:2, And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour.

C.    Christ loves us so much that He was willing to die for us.

II.     Secondly, God gave to us.

A.    God gave His only begotten son.

B.    Many mothers today see their sons go to war across the world not knowing if their sons will come back.

C.    God gave His son Jesus Christ knowing He was going to die on the cross.

1.     The word “begotten” mean “the one and only”.

2.     God gave the one and only son for us.

III.    Thirdly, God forgive us.

A.    God said “whosoever believes in Him; not who get himself ready.

1.     Some people think they have to change to come to church or get saved. Well they’re wrong.

2.     God say come as you are.

B.    God simply says one thing to all of us “I forgive you”.

1.     How many times have some of us forgiven someone over and over again?

2.     God so loved you He is willing to forgive you every time forever and ever.

a)     Matthew 18:21-22,21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

(1)   God loves us so much that He is willing to forgive every time we fail Him.
(2)   Once you accept Christ as your Savior, He will forgive you every time you sin while you are learning. (Baby)
(3)   As you learn you start to change. An example is sauerkraut in my life.

In Conclusion:

Romans 5:6-8,6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

How much does God loves us. The best way I can explain it is this;

While robbing a bank, Christ is hanging on that cross for me. He is dying for me the moment I am sinning.

Remember 3 things, God loves us, He gave for us, He forgives us.
