Previously here at “The Message” we covered “The Good Shepherd and His Sheep” and from that we learned the following
JESUS IS MY GOOD SHEPHERD
I KNOW HIS VOICE AND I FOLLOW HIM
THE DEVIL ONLY COMES TO STEAL AND KILL AND DESTROY
JESUS CAME THAT I MAY HAVE LIFE IN FULL
Now, moving along we will look how the conflict between Jesus and the Pharisees and some Jewish people escalated
Open your Bible to JOHN 10:22-31, once you got there you know what to do, type Amen!
CHARACTER, COMMAND, PROMISES, CONVICTIONS, EXAMPLES, CHALLENGES AND ENCOURAGEMENT

22 Then came the Festival of Dedication at Jerusalem. It was winter, 23 and Jesus was in the temple courts walking in Solomon’s Colonnade. 24 The Jews who were there gathered around him, saying, “How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.” 25 Jesus answered, “I did tell you, but you do not believe. The works I do in my Father’s name testify about me, 26 but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. 27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.” 31 Again his Jewish opponents picked up stones to stone him,
Right of the bat we can see 3 things here— a couple of doctrines and a feast observed by the Jewish people
The Festival of Dedication observed in the month of Kislev— [Jewish Calendar]— sometime in November-December [Winter]
Let’s take a closer look

THE FESTIVAL OF DEDICATION
Which is named Hanukkah in Hebrew
Jewish holiday to celebrate the reconsecration [renewing—cleansing] of the temple in Jerusalem
It begins on the 25th day of the month of Kislev that started 164B.C. to commemorate the purging of the temple after its pollution by Antiochus Epiphanes [167B.C.] and the rebuilding of the altar after the Syrian invaders
MY SHEEP LISTEN TO MY VOICE, I KNOW THEM, AND THEY FOLLOW ME
Talks about the doctrine of “Predestination”
If you go to the next verse you’ll see Jesus said, “My Father, who has given them to me”
EPHESIANS 1:5
ROMANS 8:29
THEY SHALL NEVER PERISH, NO ONE WILL SNATCH THEM OUT OF MY HAND
Here Jesus talked about the what we now have, the doctrine on the “Assurance of Salvation”— For those who are saved [genuinely]— they can’t lose their salvation
Remember that various denominations [such as the Pentecostals has various doctrines about the assurance of salvation
What is very important and worthy for us to always remember is the “Genuineness of Salvation”
And the ultimate completion of that salvation is, either when Jesus finally come to redeem His Bride [the Church], or when you are called home to be with Him [whichever comes first]
Whenever I speak about “Eternal Security”, I remind believers of HEBREWS 10:26-27
