Communication

Intro: The Roman Solders need all the Armor. All the protective parts of the Armor. The weapon is needed for battle. The Solder needs to be well trained. Solders need to be ready at all times. For Solders to be successful, communication with their superiors is important.
As Solders of Jesus Christ, we you want to be successful, communication is not just important, it is required.
We have the belt of truth. We have the breastplate of righteousness. Shoe of the gospel of peace. Shield of faith. The helmet of salvation. Sword of the spirit, the word of God. All this is so we can stand against the wiles of the Devil.
And if you would understand your victory, and if you would understand your attack, number one, you must see the sharpness of your sword.
We know we be attacked, we know we can victory, we know are sword need to be sharp.
a. We must must also know the source of your supply. Look in verse 18:
Ephesians 6:18 NKJV
18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—
We know that prayer is important. We pray for God to bless us. We pray for our needs. We pray for others. We pray to give thanks and praise God. But, we need to pray for protection against the wiles of the Devil. We have all we need from God to protect us from the Devil, but it is prayer that makes it work.
When you may something that takes battery's to work (battery’s not included) without battery’s it is useless. It’s the battery’s that give the power. When you are a Christian, you have the Armour of God. Battery’s are included. The power source is prayer. You just have use it.
b. An army not only needs weapons and armor, but an army needs to stay in contact with its headquarters, and an army needs a constant source of supply.
c. Without a constant source of supply, and without a system of communications, an army is destined to defeat. But, thank God, through prayer we have what we need: a source of supply—we are in constant communication with our Commander in chief. Isn’t that wonderful? And all that we need is supplied when we pray “always with all prayer and supplication”
c. The front line troops do the fighting and get all the glory, but with supply they wouldn't have ammo, or food or anything else needed to win the battle.
d. Constant communication with the command is needed to be successful in battle. In the military you have chain of command. ELab how that works. (The lowest troop doesn't communicate with commanding officer) But as Christians we have direct communication with God.
e. We need to make sure that we “put on the whole armor of God” But we can’t forgot this verse. Your all dresses up in your battle gear, with your sword, the next step is prayer.
f. We will not be successful is Spiritual warfare, if prayer in not a part of it. The battle is not won behind the pulpit, or in the Sunday school class,. The battle is won in your prayer time
“Praying always” At all seasons,on every occasion.
g. Not just Sunday at church, or prayer meeting. Not just when you have a need. Not just when things are going bad. But at all times.

“With all prayer and supplication”
Supplication: Request. Our request isn’t always wanting something. Have to stay with the context of the scripture here. Put on the whole Armor of God, to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Prayer is talking with God. We have recognize who He is. “Our father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name”

10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
“with all prayer and supplication, and in the spirit”
1. When pray performed right, is performed "in the Spirit"; with the heart, soul, and spirit engaged in it; it is put up with a true heart, and a right spirit, and without hypocrisy; in a spiritual way, and with fervency, and under the influence, and by the assistance of the Spirit of God.
Matthew 6:5 NKJV
5 “And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.
Matthew 6:6 NKJV
6 But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
