What are some of the things that contributed in God calling David the man after my own heart?
~ what was God’s heart like from the beginning?
~ While we were still yet sinners, he loved us and sent Christ to die for us.
~ Christ was his only son and he gave him for us
~ God cares, he leaves the 99 to look for the one that is lost
~ Jesus knows Judas will betray him, he shares his last meal with him.
Jesus is patient with Peter when he knows he will deny him
~David longed and pursued justice and mercy for God’s people. He longed to do works that were pleasing to God even when his life was at risk.
~ David ducks the arrows of King Saul - he had just killed Goliath and he could take down Saul but he would not touch the anointed of the Lord.
~ David asked to pay a risky price for Michal,
