GOD'S PROMIES

Introduction:

For the last couple of weeks God has lead me to preach some sermons from, Waiting on God, to God's Grace to today, God's Promise.

Leviticus 26:3-13,3 If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them; 4 Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. 5 And your threshing shall reach unto the vintage, and the vintage shall reach unto the sowing time: and ye shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely. 6 And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land. 7 And ye shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword. 8 And five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword. 9 For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you. 10 And ye shall eat old store, and bring forth the old because of the new. 11 And I will set my tabernacle among you: and my soul shall not abhor you. 12 And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people. 13 I am the LORD your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that ye should not be their bondmen; and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and made you go upright.

I am not a prosperity preacher. But there are facts here in the word that one can’t get away from.

God will take care of you when you are in the right relation with Him.

I.       God's promise to us

A.    Here in these verse I just read you God tell us that He will watch over us when we put him first

B.    Matthew 6:25, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

1.     If you do this: Seek ye God first

a)     Matthew 6:33, But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

2.     Than God will do this: Take care of us

3.     What I am afraid of today is that people look to God to become rich

II.     We must do it for the right reason and this is the key

A.    If I take God's word and say I can get rich

1.     I am doing it for the wrong reason

2.     If I put money in the offer plate than I can get all the money you need

a)     Put in 100.00 you get back more

b)     The more you put in the more you get out.

3.     What wrong with this?

a)     Satan did the same thing with Christ

b)     He temped Christ with the truth and twisted to suite his purpose

B.    Your heart must be in the right place

1.     You obey because that is what God want you to do

2.     You fall in love with God as you get to know Him

a)     Now we are doing it for the right reason

b)     To have a relationship with your saviour

III.    God is faithful

A.    Look at all the examples God gives us in the Bible

1.     From the Old Testaments

a)     Water the crops

b)     Trees and crops will bring fourth much fruit

c)     You will eat your full

d)     You will dwell safely in your land

e)     You will defeat you enemies with ease

B.    Matthew 6:33, But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

1.     First we must seek God above all else

a)     When you are tired and it is time to go to work you get up and go

(1)   You make your job important

b)     When you are tired Sunday morning or Tuesday night you stay home and rest or sleep

(1)   You have not seeked God first
(2)   When you go from work to Tuesday night Bible Study without food or rest don’t you think God see that and will reward you because you put Him first

2.     Than all these things will be added unto us

a)     What things, food, clothing, drink

b)     Our basic nessitities

Conclusion:

You know, just like Satan, the preacher that preach that one can get rich are telling some truth, put not all of it.

God does make promises to us, as Christian and He will keep them if our hearts are in the right place.

Napoleon: “Thank You, Captain”

When Napoleon’s horse ran away and a lowly soldier caught him, Napoleon said, “Thank you, Captain.” The man at once packed his belongings, moved to the officers’ quarters, and went to mess with them. The emperor had called him captain, and he was therefore an officer.

We are all miserable sinners, but when we receive Jesus Christ, He calls us sons of God (John 1:12). Let us then promptly pack our belongings and move into the higher life to which He has appointed us!

When we get saved we become joint heirs of Jesus Christ and we don’t live it
