Mother’s Day

*Introduction:*  This morning we are here to bring honor to our wives and mothers on Mothers Day.

With honor also comes responsibility.

\\ *Proverbs 12:4*, A virtuous woman/ is/ a crown to her husband:

So what is a crown and what does it mean here in Proverbs 12:4?

!! A.    Webster’s meaning is = a reward of victory or mark of honor;* *the title representing the championship in a sport

!! B.    *2* meaning*: *a royal or imperial headdress or cap of sovereignty

!! C.    A crown is something special we men wear

!

II.

Know how does this apply here?

Here is what I found out as I studied the Bible.

How is a wife~/mother a crown to her family?

!! A.    SHE EXERCISES A CONTROL OVER HER HUSBAND.

!!! 1.

A “crown” is the sign of rule.

A virtuous woman rules by the power of her love and the graces of her life

!!!! a)     Love and Grace is some of the biggest qualities that a wife or mother has.

!!!! b)     Virtuous woman means “strength”

!!!!! (1)   the term suggests a person of great ability or inner resources

!!!!! (2)   In the Old Testament time a woman of strength was salt after

!!! 2.      Beauty, tenderness, love, purity, are the imperial forces of life, and these woman wields.

!! B.    In our world today people say that a housewife or a mother is a second-class citizen.

!!! 1.

That is far from the truth.

!! C.    Woman’s place is important.

God has made it so, and made her fit for filling it.

Woman became the completion of man’s capacity and title — she became his crown.

!!! 1.     God did not just make woman, He made her from Adam’s rib

!! D.    The crown of a king is a symbol of strength and woman back in the day of the Old Testament, woman were look for that were strong.

Which would give birth to good children as well as do all the work needed to keep up a family.

! III.

Men we wear this crown, which is our wives.

!! A.    A king is not a King with out his crown.

Have you ever seen a king without his crown?

He is proud of it.

!! B.    So should we as husbands be proud of our wife’s and want to show them off.

They are the crown of our glory.

!!! 1.     Look what kind of wife I have, she the greatest.

!!! 2.     Look what kind of mother she is, she is the best.

!! C.    a woman of spirit, such a woman owns her husband for her head, and therefore she /is a crown /to him, not only a credit and honor to him, as /a crown /is an ornament, but supports and keeps up his authority in his family, as /a crown /is an sign of power.

She is submissive and faithful to him and by her example teaches his children and servants to be so too.

!! D.    A woman as the crown bestows honor unto her husband and the husband which wear the crown bestows honor unto his wife

 

 

*Conclusion:*  A King can’t be a King without his crown no more a husband can be the head of his house without his crown (his wife)

 

Together a husband and a wife make a team.

Ogden Nash wrote a poem, which says

 

“To keep your marriage brimming

With love in the loving cup,

Whenever you’re wrong, admit it;

Whenever you’re right, shut up.”

Today is Mothers day lets honor our mothers~/wife’s who are the crown of our life.

Let us make every day a day of honor for our wifes~/mothers
