Romans 5 1-5
ROMANS 5:1-5
Romans 5:1-5,1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: 2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; 4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope: 5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
This morning I want us to think about the peace of God. For here in Romans chapter 5:1 God is telling us that through faith we can have peace and that peace comes from God
Peace in every day living. Every problem each one of us go through we can have peace. Pure peace, Godly peace that only comes from above.
There is no problem to big or to small, yes every problem you can come up with Gods peace can be with you and -
This comes;
I. Because we have access to God
A. We have access to God in prayer
B. Hebrews 4:16, Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
1. We are adopted into the family, God becomes our personal father
2. As children, we can run right into the throne
a) If we wanted to see the President of the US, If we could get in it would take a lot of work
b) But not his son
c) As children we have a special place and we can run right in to the throne with out a appointment or anything else
3. As His children God will take good care of us the same way we has parents would take care of our children
C. We don’t just have access, we can go before the King of the Universe with our problems
1. We don’t need an appointment
2. We don’t need to know someone special, other than knowing Christ as savior
D. We have a personal access to God as if we were His child and we are if we are saved.
E. And because of this we can -
II. Glory in tribulations verse 3
A. Every problem we can encounter we can glory in
1. Glory means = to boast
2. We can get excited in, “praise God I have a problem”
B. I don’t get up in the morning looking for problem, but when they come I do look to see how God will work this one out
C. Philippians 4:7, And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
1. God does understand what we are going through
2. It passes all human understanding
Which leads to the next point
III. Tribulations worketh good things in our lives
A. We have the thought that trouble is bad when in Gods eyes it is good
1. Trouble brings out the best in Christians
B. We can see here that the list goes in a order
1. We must have troubles for patience to come
2. Once we have patience, we than have had experience
3. And through the experience we went through we now have hope that God can do it again and again and again.
Conclusion:
For us to have peace in our lives we need to have 3 things
Access, tribulations, knowing tribulations worketh good things
Listen to these verses in closing:
John 14:27, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Matthew 11:28, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
