Romans 8:26
I. The Spirit helpeth our infirmities.
A. Each of us are some level in our lives with God.
1. At this level we are weak, not were we want to be and we need help.
2. On my best day with God, I need help from Him.
B. The Holy Spirit takes hold at our side the very moment of our weakness.
II. For we know not what to pray for.
A. We at times don’t know how to pray to God for the things which we are going through.
B. There are times when we just don’t know how to ask God for help.
1. We might be so down, that we are not thinking right and because of that we don’t pray right.
III. The Spirit maketh intercessions for us.
A. So the Holy Spirit pleads with the Father for us.
B. Have you gone to God sometimes in prayer when you actually did not know what to pray for? All you could do was just go to Him and say, “Father.” You could not ask anything because you didn’t know what to ask for. At times like this the Spirit “helpeth our infirmities.” How wonderful that is![1]
C. We need to remind our selves that the Holy spirit is in us from the day we accepted Christ.
1. And after tonight may prayer would be that you will not forget that He is there to help us.
D. “which can not be uttered” means: The Holy Spirit has such a close relationship with the Father, that all He has to do is think what needs to be done and the Father will hear and understand what the needs are.
Conclusion: I hope that this has been a learning experience for you and the next time you are in a place where you just don’t know how to pray to God about a problem, you will know that the Spirit which is inside of you is doing a great job in prayer to the Father about you.
