Seek God In Everything

Luke 12:22-31,

22 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on. 23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment. 24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls? 25 And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit? 26 If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest? 27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith? 29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. 30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. 31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you

The one thing God has steer me too is to tell you that He wants to take care of you

All through the Bible God talks about if you will follow Him, He will take good care of you

Here in these verses today God explains more about what He want from us and how He will take care of us

Point number I

I)                We are not to worry (verse 22-23)

A.    We are not to think about what we are going to eat or how we are going to cloth ourselves

1.     Christ is telling us that as Christians God will take care of our basic needs, if we trust in Him

B.    Consider the ravens in verse 24

1.     They do not work to buy food

2.     They don’t have a bank or checking account to withdraw from

3.     And etc God takes care of them

4.     God tells us that we are more valuable than any of His creation

a)      God has made all these living things here on earth and we are the most valuable of them all

C.    Look back in verse 25-26

1.     Can any of us change any of our problems by worrying?

2.     Than Christ goes as far as to tell us

3.     We can not even change the lest of our problems let alone the big ones

4.     Instead of worrying we should put our worries to prayer, as much prayer as it takes to get an answer

D.    Now Consider the lilies in verse 27

1.     Christ tells us that Solomon, the riches man ever to live on this planet was not as great as a lilies

a)      The lilies do not Toil or spin, which means they do not work at life

b)     The Lilies are greater than Solomon

c)      God takes care of His creation

E.     In verse 28 Christ tell us, If God can take care of the earth today which will one day be destroyed, He can take care of you

1.     We are valuable and

2.     He tells us to have faith, trust in Him

II)              Point number 2, Don’t seek after the things of the world (verse 29)

A.     God tell us not to be doubtful minded

1.      We are not to jump on this today and say I have all hope and faith only to be let down tomorrow

2.      We are to trust God each and every day no matter what is happening

3.      No matter how bad it might be one day

4.      Every time you start to worry, start to pray

5.      Not one moment up and the next down

6.      We are not to be doubtful minded

B.     Than in verse 30 Christ tell us the world seek after those things

1.      People spend their whole life seeking big homes and cars and big bank accounts and after all that what do they really have?

2.      Nothing that really matters.

3.      I have had the opportunity to meet people like this and all that stuff still did not make them happy in the long run.

4.      Only God can satisfy us as we trust in Him

III)            We are to spend most of our time seeking the things of God (Verse 31)

A.     Seek first God and all that is written in this Bible

1.    The key word here is First

B.     Than and only than will God add all the rest unto us

C.     God is not telling us not to seek other things like a house or job or a car or a bike or whatever.

D.    What God is saying is put all these things in the right prospective.

E.     God must always come first in every thing

F.     Than all these things shall be added unto you

Conclusion: God wants so bad to take care of us, will you let him today
