Thanksgiving Service
I. Psalm 107:1,2- Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. 2, Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy.
A. We that are saved should be giving thanks to God for what He has done.
B. God also commands us to let others know what He has done for us.
II. Mark 8:38, For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.”
A. We should not be ashamed to tell people what God has done for us.
B. It is one way we witness for Him.
III. Psalm 39:3, My heart was hot within me; While I was musing, the fire burned. Then I spoke with my tongue:
A. Musing means to meditate.
B. The fire was burning bigger and bigger.
C. We should be bubbling over with thanks and praise to the point we can’t hold it in.
IV. Mark 5:19,19 However, Jesus did not permit him, but said to him, “Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you.”
A. Christ tells us here to let our friends know what He has been doing in our lives.
V. Psalm 126:2, Then our mouth was filled with laughter, And our tongue with singing. Then they said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.”
A. As we get closer to Christ, our joy grows more and more.
B. As our joy grows we want to share it with others.
