How to Be Effective for God

Matthew 6:24 “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money."............................

Matthew 16:24 “Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me.”

Prevailing Prayer, Heartfelt Prayers, Gut Wrenching Prayers.........James tells us: “Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.”

What about Prayers of petition? We hesitate don’t we when we are thinking of praying for our own needs? What about praying for the needs of others, just remember, our prayers are effective when accompanied by faith.

Do we start our prayer time in Prayers of praise? Are we telling God we first want His Will to be done? Are we making sure that what we are praying will “surely Glorify God?”

God’s Powerful Word guides us in being “effective”

Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.”

God’s Word, The Holy Bible to mankind is a chart, a map, a guide in showing us the “how” to successful and joyful living.

God’s inspired Word points the way to salvation and eternal life. If this Holy Word is used effectively, it makes us effective soul-winners.

Positive Faith, can there be “negative” faith? Are we ever “scared” in our faith?

Matthew 9:22 “Jesus turned around, and when he saw her he said, “Daughter, be encouraged! Your faith has made you well.” And the woman was healed at that moment.

This afflicted woman came to Jesus, determined to touch only the hem of His garment. She was scared, she didn’t want to bother Jesus but she had great faith, she knew Jesus could heal her! Her faith was emphatic, certain that she would be healed, AND SHE WAS HEALED!

All things are possible with positive faith. This kind of faith makes us effective for God. Sooooo faith allows us to “effectively work” for God’s Glory.

Persevering Love for Christ and one another........

2 Corinthians 5:14 “Either way, Christ’s love controls us. Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life.”

There is no defense against a love that doesn’t quit or give up. It breaks down walls of resentments, hurts, and misunderstandings. Isn’t it impossible to stay upset or mad with someone who is “loving you” all the time? Who is being kind to you all the time? Of course, pure, genuine love.

Persevering love (constant love) includes compassion and empathy. It enables us to be effective as we relate to others by endeavoring to put ourselves in their place. Are we “working” to walk in others shoes? Are we making a deep effort to get to know their hurts, concerns, feelings or is our love “COSMETIC”?

Persistent Effort, Day in-Day out, non-stop loving effort...

Listen to God’s words through the prophet Isaiah: Isaiah 43:10 “But you are my witnesses, O Israel!” says the Lord. “You are my servant. You have been chosen to know me, believe in me, and understand that I alone am God. There is no other God— there never has been, and there never will be.”

We are to witness to others about the saving power of Jesus Christ.

To be effective we must be persistent and patient in our efforts. We must never give up. The value of a soul is beyond our estimation. Are we working for God’s Kingdom?

AMEN
