One of the things people don't like about God is that He does not change with the times. 'You need to remove that verse, it's so outdated.' is something I've heard more than once. One of the things children of God and followers of Christ enjoy most about God is that He doesn't change. It is such a relief that we are not repeatedly trying to figure out what He wants and what He expects from us. Through His Word, The Holy Bible, he has told us everything we need to know about living a life that pleases Him and consequently, pleases us. Or at the very least, gives us peace. We know where the goal posts are and where the sidelines lay. We are free to do whatever we please within. When we allow Jesus into our life, what pleases us tends to please God.
A bit of a precursor to the message that our friend Reverend Gore preaches today about going back to old paths. In this case, old does not mean outdated and obsolete. It is a gift from the one who knows how it is all supposed to work.
