Daily Prayer of Thanksgiving

Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus. With the help of the Holy Spirit and by Your grace, we join with the heavenly host making a joyful noise to You and serving You with gladness! We come before Your presence with singing!

Lord, we know that You are God! It is You Who made us, not we ourselves and we are Yours! We are Your people and the sheep o Your pasture.

Father, we enter into Your gates with thanksgiving and present an offering of thanks. We enter into Your courts with praise! We are thankful and delight to say so. We bless and affectionately praise Your name! For You are good and Your mercy and loving-kindness are everlasting. Your faithfulness and truth endure to all generations. It is a good and delightful thing to give thanks to You, O Most High.

Lord, by Your Holy Spirit, perfect the fruit of our lips. Help us draw thanksgiving forth from our innermost resources; reach down into the most secret places of our hearts that we may offer significant thanksgiving to You, Father.

Thank You for our parents who gave us life. We are grateful for the victories and achievements we have experienced in spite of our hurts – the bruises and the abuse that boxed us in when we were small children. You used them for good even though Satan intended them for our destruction.

You prepared us to listen to the inner voice – the voice of Your Holy Spirit. Thank You for Your grace, which is teaching us to trust ourselves and others. Thank You for life – life in all its abundance.

It was You Who gave us a desire to pray, and we are grateful for the prayer closet where we meet, and we thank You for Your Word. Life Is exciting, and we are grateful that we are alive for such a time as this.

Thank You for past and present relationships. We learn from those who oppose us and from those who are for us. You taught us to recognize and understand our strengths and weaknesses. You gave us discernment and spiritual understanding. We enter Your gates with thanksgiving in our hearts. You are our Father. We are Your children, loved by You unconditionally. We rejoice in You, Lord, and give thanks at the remembrance of your holiness.

Protection from Terrorism

Father, in Jesus’ name, we praise You and offer up thanksgiving because the Lord is near — He is coming soon. Therefore, we will not fret or have any anxiety about the foreign terrorism and domestic rioting that is threatening the lives of those who travel and those stationed on foreign soil or at home. But in this circumstance and in everything by prayer and petition definite requests with thanksgiving we continue to make our wants known to You.

Father, our petition is that terrorism in the heavenlies and on earth be stopped before it spreads to other countries and comes to our land. We pray that the domestic terrorism of racism and hate and fear is eradicated in the hearts of the people.

Jesus, You have given us the authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions and physical and mental strength and ability over all the power that the enemy possesses, and nothing shall in any way harm us.

In the name of Jesus, we take authority over a spirit of timidity — of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear of terrorism — for God has given us a spirit of power and of love and of a calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.

we shall not be afraid of the terror of the night, nor of the arrow the evil plots and slanders of the wicked that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor of the destruction and sudden death that surprise and lay waste at noonday.

Therefore, we establish ourselves on righteousness, rightness — right in conformity with God’s will and order; we shall be far from even the thought of oppression or destruction, for we shall not fear, and from terror, for it shall not come near us.

Holy Spirit, thank you for writing this Word upon the tablets of our hearts so that we can speak it out of our mouths, for we will order our conversation aright, and You will show us the salvation of God.

The People of Our Land

Father, in the name of Jesus, we come before You to claim Your promise in 2 Chronicles 7:14 AMP: “If My people, who are called by My name shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.”

We are Your people, called by Your name. Thank You for hearing our prayers and moving by Your Spirit in our land. There are famines, earthquakes, floods, natural disasters, and violence occurring. Men’s hearts are failing them because of fear.

Lord, Your Son, Jesus, spoke of discerning the signs of the times. With the Holy Spirit as our Helper, we are watching and praying.

We desire to humble ourselves before You, asking that a spirit of humility be released in us. Thank You for quiet and meek spirits, for we know that the meek shall inherit the earth.

Search us, O God, and know our hearts; try us, and know our thoughts today. See if there be any wicked way in us, and lead us in the way everlasting.

Forgive us our sins of judging inappropriately, complaining about, and criticizing our leaders. Cleanse us with hyssop, and we will be clean; wash us, and we will be whiter than snow. Touch our lips with coals from Your altar that we may pray prayers that avail much for all men and women everywhere.

Lord, we desire to release rivers of living water for the healing of the nations.

Protection and Deliverance of a City

Father, in the name of Jesus, we have received Your power — ability, efficiency, and might — because the Holy Spirit has come upon us; and we are Your witnesses in Douglasville and to the ends — the very bounds — of the earth.

We fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in good time for every need — appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we in the United States of America need it.

Father, thank You for sending forth Your commandments to the earth; Your Word runs very swiftly throughout the United States. Your Word continues to grow and spread.

Father, we seek — inquire for, require, and request — the peace and welfare of America, the place in which You have caused us to live. We pray to You for the welfare of this nation and do our part by getting involved in it. We will not let [false] prophets and diviners who are in our midst deceive us; we pay no attention and attach no significance to our dreams that we dream or to theirs. Destroy [their schemes], O Lord; confuse their tongues, for we have seen violence and strife in the nation.

Holy Spirit, we ask You to visit our nation and open the eyes of the people, that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may thus receive forgiveness and release from their sins and a place and portion among those who are consecrated and purified by faith in Jesus.

Father, we pray for deliverance and salvation for those who are following the course and fashion of this world — who are under the sway of the tendency of this present age — following the prince of the power of the air. Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.

Father, You see the regional and cultural strongholds that would hinder the Gospel. You have told us to declare Your works. So we say boldly that the prince of the power of the air, the god of this world who blinds the unbelievers’ minds (that they should not discern the truth), is a defeated foe. We declare on the authority of Your Word that You have disarmed the powers and authorities; You made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the Cross. Thank You, Father, for the spreading of the Gospel.

Thank You, Father, for the guardian angels assigned to this place who war for us in the heavenlies. In the name of Jesus, we stand victorious over the principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this world, and spiritual wickedness in high places over our nation.

We ask the Holy Spirit to sweep through the gates of our nation and convince the people and bring demonstration to them about sin and about righteousness — uprightness of heart and right standing with God — and about judgment.

Father, You said, “For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you...thoughts and plans for welfare and peace, and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome” (Jer. 29:11 AMP). By the blessing of the influence of the upright and God’s favor [because of them], the United States is exalted.

Hedge of Protection

Father, in the name of Jesus, we lift up the people of the United States to You and pray a hedge of protection around us.

We thank You, Father, that You are a wall of fire round about us and that you set Your angels round about us.

We thank You, Father, that those who dwell in the secret place of the Most High and abide under the shadow of the Almighty. We say of You, Lord, You are our refuge and fortress, in You will we trust. You cover us with Your feathers, and under Your wings shall we trust. We shall not be afraid of the terror by night or the arrow that flies by day. Only with our eyes will we behold and see the reward of the wicked.

Because we have made You, Lord, our refuge and fortress, no evil shall befall us — no accident will overtake us — neither shall any plague or calamity come near us. For you give Your angels charge over us, to keep us in all Your ways.

Father, because You have set Your love upon us, therefore will You deliver us. Lord, we shall call upon You, and You will answer us. You will be with us in trouble and will satisfy us with a long life and show us Your salvation. Not a hair of our heads shall perish.

Members of the Armed Forces

Father, our military men and women have been weaponized against its own citizens and they have been sent into other nations as peacekeepers. We petition You, Lord, according to Psalm 91, for the safety of our military personnel.

This is no afternoon athletic contest that our armed forces will walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the devil and all his angels. We look beyond human instruments of conflict and address the forces and authorities and rulers of darkness and powers in the spiritual world. As children of the Most High God, we enforce the triumphant victory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Our Lord stripped principalities and powers, making a show of them openly, Thy you, Jesus, for defeating the evil one and his forces of darkness for us, and giving us authority to proclaim your name that is above every name. All power and authority both in heaven and earth belong to you. Righteousness and truth shall prevail, and nations shall come to the light of the Gospel.

We petition heaven to turn our troops into a real peacekeeping force by pouring out the glory of God through our men and women in that part of the world. Use them as instruments of righteousness to defeat the plans of the devil.

Lord, we plead the power of the blood of Jesus, asking You to manifest Your power and glory. We entreat You on behalf of the citizens in these countries on all sides of this conflict. They have experienced pain and heartache; they are victims of the devil’s strategies to steal, ill, and destroy. We pray that they will come to know Jesus, Who came to give us life and life more abundantly.

We stand in the gap for the people of the war-torn, devil-overrun land. We expect an overflowing of Your goodness and glory in the lives of those for whom we are praying. May they call upon Your name and be saved.
