Seasons change, God’s mission does not

When we have a narrow perspective, we are prone to discouragement and despair. You may be experiencing a bad day, but that doesn’t mean you have a bad life. You may be living through a difficult year. That does not mean you serve an angry God.
God’s mission started long before us, and may continue long after all of us are gone.
Genesis 1:28 ESV
And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
Genesis 3:15 ESV
I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.”
Genesis 9:1 ESV
And God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.
Matthew 28:19–20 ESV
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Revelation 21:3–4 ESV
And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

Kingdoms of this world rise and fall. God’s kingdom is certain.

God’s mission is to build an everlasting kingdom. Why do we get so wrapped up in the politics of lesser, temporary kingdoms?
Isaiah 9:7 ESV
Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.
God’s kingdom has been proven to advance inspite of tremendous political opposition.

People will overlook you and exclude you. God has a place for you on His team.

God’s mission requires the whole church taking the whole gospel to the whole world.
The church does not have a mssion. God’s mission has a church
Church is a team sport in which everyone has a part to play. No matter how small or insignificant your contribution to the team may be, we are all better of when you offer your part.
