The finish carpenter – he does the fine work.  After the rough guy does his thing then the finesse begins.  A good finish carpenter makes everyone else look good.  After he is done, no one sees the mistakes, the hasty inaccurate measurements, the angles that weren’t quite square or level.  He works with it all and when he is done it is the finished project that we are all taken with.  It takes great patience to be the “finish” guy.

Jesus completed the work on Calvary’s cross.  He stayed with the program until every last sin was atoned for.  He died for people who would never imagine that they needed any help, - didn’t want any help.  We’d find a thousand reason not to go that distance – to take a short cut there for sure.  But he never stopped short there.  He saw it through to the end.
