I. A Problem & A Promise
A. The Problem of Disobedience
Deuteronomy 28:15-20 (NIV® )
15 However, if you do not obey the LORD your God and do not carefully follow all his commands and decrees I am giving you today, all these curses will come upon you and overtake you: . . . 20 The LORD will send on you curses, confusion and rebuke in everything you put your hand to, until you are destroyed and come to sudden ruin because of the evil you have done in forsaking him.
B. The Promise of Restoration
Isaiah 57:18-19 (NIV® )
18 I have seen his ways, but I will heal him; I will guide him and restore comfort to him, 19 creating praise on the lips of the mourners in Israel. Peace, peace, to those far and near," says the LORD. "And I will heal them."
II. Understanding Our Struggle
Ephesians 6:12 (NIV® )
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
A. The Helmet & The Sword

B. Good & Evil

6 Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near.

him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.

9 "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
C. God’s Peace
Philippians 4:6-9 (NIV® )
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests
to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding , will guard your hearts and your minds
in Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever
is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things.
9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me--put it into practice. And the God of peace will
be with you.

F. A Stark Contrast

G. The Fruit of Righteousness

H. The Promise
Psalm 37:25-28 (NIV® )
25 I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread. 26 They are always generous and lend freely; their children will be blessed. 27 Turn from evil and do good; then you will dwell in the land forever. 28 For the LORD loves the just and will not forsake his faithful ones. They will be protected forever, but the offspring of the wicked will be cut off;

oppressed free and break every yoke?
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Hear our prayers today, nothing is hidden from You. Everything is open before Your
sight. You know our struggles, the challenges before us, those who oppose what You
have called us to. We ask You to silence the voices of those who resist Your purposes.
Deliver us from evil. Open wide and effectual doors for the proclamation of the Gospel
of Your Kingdom. Give us strength to endure, the wisdom to choose Your pathway and
boldness to choose the truth openly. May the name of Jesus be exalted in this
generation, amen.
