I. SATAN’S PRIDE/Fall—Isaiah 14:12–15
Lucifer was next to God in power. He was a beautiful angel, but pride entered into him, and he thought he could be better than God!
1. I will ascend into heaven.
2. I will exalt my throne.
3. I will sit on the mount of congregation.
4. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds.
5. I will be like the most high.
II. SATAN’S POWER
1. Comes as an angel of light—2 Corinthians 11:14, 15.
2. Comes as a roaring lion—1 Peter 5:8.
3. Comes in a form of a serpent—Genesis 3:1.
4. Blinds people to the truth—2 Corinthians 4:4.
5. Set snares (traps) before people—1 Timothy 3:7.
6. Produces miracles—2 Thessalonians 2:9. For every real thing God does, Satan has a counterfeit (fake).
7. Afflicts people—Job 1:12. Satan oppresses, depresses, and even possess people (lives in and controls their lives).
8. Brings sickness—Job 2:7.
9. Opposes the righteous—Zechariah 3:1. Is against all Christians!
III. SATAN’S PERSON
1. He is a murderer—John 8:44a.
2. He is a liar—John 8:44b. Yet, many people will listen to him and follow Him!
3. He is a deceiver—Matthew 24:24. Here Satan works through man!
4. He is an accuser—Revelation 12:10. He tries to have Christians think of the past and their mistakes!
5. He is a hinderer—1 Thessalonians 2:18. Satan always hinders God’s work, and God’s servants and workers!
6. He is a tempter—John 13:2. Here Satan tempts Judas to betray Christ. Satan tempts in many different ways.
IV. WHAT SATAN IS NOT
Omnispresent (He is a created being)
Omnipotent (All Powerful)
Omniscient (All Knowing)
A victor (It is finished)
