1 Peter 4:10 ESV
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace:
The Greek word used for gift here is fair-ees-ma, it is spelled charisma. It means gift of grace. When we here the word gift we often think of some earthly possession we might give to someone, or get from someone. Taken in context with the rest of this passage Peter is speaking of God’s gift of His unending grace. God in His mercy, has shown us the gift of His grace. Because of God’s gift of grace we have received salvation from our sins.
How does God’s gift to us, relate to us serving one another, and our being good stewards of God’s gift of Grace?
When you have a chance later today; look back in Chapter 3, and 4 where you will see that after we are saved; we are to live a life honoring what Christ has done for us. You will see we are to show others grace like God does us, and when we are saved we are to tell others about what God has done for us. We need to tell others about the good news of the Gospel. We can be good stewards of God’s Grace by the resurrection power of Jesus Christ. Being good stewards of God’s gifts, and resources is more than just giving money. It is making the most of everything He has given us to use to glorify Him, and His Son.
