James 5:13–19 KJV 1900
13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. 14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: 15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. 16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. 17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. 18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit. 19 Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;
James 1:6 KJV 1900
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
Last week God led me to preach on faith.
In direct obedience to a prophetic word, I preached about faith.
Harder than I ever have...
In a simple word, we experienced a breakthrough like never before.
All week we have been stirring up our faith!
Allowing God to increase our faith.
This morning I want to about a critical formula that we must add to our lives...
We don’t just stir up our faith but there is something that faith must be mixed with.
The bible is a book of Devine Formulas...
All of the OT is a formula
Sin formula -
Don’t sin in this manner, if you do then you have to sacrifice this and your sin will be rolled ahead. If you don’t sacrifice, then there is damnation.
Financial formula -
Malachi 3:8–11 KJV 1900
8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. 9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, Even this whole nation. 10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be meat in mine house, And prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, If I will not open you the windows of heaven, And pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. 11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, And he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; Neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts.
This is a formula that God challenges you to test him on.
It is NT as well, give and it shall be given to you…
There is a family that gave a sacrificial offering last Sunday of $1000.00.
I prophecies that God would “extravagantly bless them this week”.
They recieved $25,000.00 on Wednesday!
The formula is: Pay your tithe faithfully (10%) + Pay temple offering (5%) + give sacrificially = blessing and provision of God.
10% + 5% + $1000.00 = $25,000.00
Geuss what this couple will do today?
Pay their tithe and offering!
The NT is a formula
Salvation -
Romans 6:23 KJV 1900
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
When Peter preached and explained to those Jews that day what they were seeing...
These men are not drunk as ye suppose.
They saw through the preaching the reality of their lives and asked what they had to do to experience forgivness and Peter responded with a formula.
Acts 2:38–39 KJV 1900
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
When you are struggling with depression and anxiety, there is a formula - Change your thinking!
Philippians 4:7–8 KJV 1900
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
The Word of God is a book of formulas that transcend time, culture, status...
If you can just follow the formula, everything works out!
This is why the bibles uses words to describe the formulas like: path, steps, the way, light, revelation,
After the formula of Acts 2:38 - salvation - the formula that I am about to show is the most important!
If you will follow it, you will walk in the blessing of the Lord.
People talk about their faith like it’s a badge they can wear, or a coat they can put on.
I lost my faith, or they found it.
My faith is weak or strong.
They don’t understand the faith formula!
Faith alone is dead.
James 2:14 KJV 1900
14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
James 2:17 KJV 1900
17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
James 2:20 KJV 1900
20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
Faith -
So what do we add to the formula?
What do we add to faith?
Faith plus A = fulfilment.
A = prayer
James 5:15 KJV 1900
15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
“The Prayer of Faith”
What is the prayer of faith?
Hebrews 11:1 KJV 1900
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
11 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
The Holy Bible: English Standard Version. (2016). (Heb 11:1). Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles.

1–2  11 The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It’s our handle on what we can’t see. The act of faith is what distinguished our ancestors, set them above the crowd.

3  By faith, we see the world called into existence by God’s word, what we see created by what we don’t see.

When faith and prayer is combined - NOTHING is impossible!
James 1:6–7 KJV 1900
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
Most important prayer you can pray, “God increase my faith!”
Key to a new demention is a new attitude
Study things to add to faith
