Transforming Vessels

Empty Vessels (Gen. 3: 1-24).

Since the fall of mankind, human kind, man and woman alike have been born empty vessels.

Adam and Eve were created living vessels; yet, in the garden of Eden, the serpent confounded and confused God’s word to deceive Eve

Eve’s desire to be like God inspired the serpent to trick her.

God had created her a vessel in His image, but her and Adam’s disobedience killed the spiritual image God had created them.

Walking Dead (Matt. 8:22).

Since spiritual death in the garden, mankind has been walking in a cemetery spiritually dead to the living God.

God restores lifeless vessels (Judges 15: 14-19).

The Old Testament is full of examples of God using lifeless vessels to restore life.

Samson, with the Spirit upon him, took the jawbone of an ass and killed a thousand Philistines. (This jawbone is in a death state and is being used to cause further death.)

Samson cast away the jawbone upon defeating the Philistines and cried out to God because he was perishing with thirst.

God carved out a clave in the hollow of the jawbone and produced life sustaining water.

God took the instrument man used for death and transformed it into an instrument of life.

Restoring mankind to life (

The Romans used the cross as an instrument of death.

God, through the obedience of His Son, transformed the cross into an instrument of life.
