God shed His grace on thee… how we need the grace of GOD in our Nation and around the world. I long for the words of the first song to be true… In God we still trust… I am not sure that is a true reflection of this nation.
No doubt that we have been blessed!

It is because I love Jesus that I love my country. We are called to love our neighbors. God has put us in a particular family, a particular neighborhood, and a particular nation. He has placed us here and it is here we are supposed to love. I do not love my country (or family) because it is perfect but because it is mine - the one God has given to me. (Thanks Chuck Colson)
a quote from Paul Harvey that I heard. He said that America with all her faults is still far ahead of whoever is in second place. We’re still about the only country in the world where people are standing in line to get in rather than climbing over barbed wire fences or braving the high seas in small boats, dying to get out.
Something special about home.
Jacob and Joseph… home.. it in Egypt.
Faith Chapter - recognized they were strangers and exiles
13 All these died in faith, without receiving the promises, but having seen them and having welcomed them from a distance, and having confessed that they were strangers and exiles on the earth.
14 For those who say such things make it clear that they are seeking a country of their own.
15 And indeed if they had been thinking of that country from which they went out, they would have had opportunity to return.
16 But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God; for He has prepared a city for them.
As much as we cling to it, this world is not our home!
Strangers and Exiles living on Earth!
22 By faith Joseph, when he was dying, made mention of the exodus of the sons of Israel, and gave orders concerning his bones.
24 Joseph said to his brothers, “I am about to die, but God will surely take care of you and bring you up from this land to the land which He promised on oath to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob.”
25 Then Joseph made the sons of Israel swear, saying, “God will surely take care of you, and you shall carry my bones up from here.”
26 So Joseph died at the age of one hundred and ten years; and he was embalmed and placed in a coffin in Egypt.
Looking ahead to a better land! To the promises of God. He was in Egypt. Working for Pharoah… Pharoah didn't worship God, He thought he was God.
Joseph found himself in a foreign land. Administrator in the govt of a foreign land… God’s blessing was on Joseph and the land He was in was blessed. the whole world was blessed.
As God looked after His people and preserved the lineage of Christ, as God worked His plan, the people of the world were blessed.
Joseph was in Egypt but his heart was in the promises of God… of a kingdom much greater.
Try to set up home.

Go on a trip we take so much stuff
Pack it up - Depending on the mission we pack a bit light…
The further the distance, the lighter we have to pack if we are to carry it, but the more important that we pack the right things.
We are camping here for a season.
When you camp make it as much like home as you can but don’t get tied to the campsite.
Have a home much greater than the camper or the tent or the hammock that I am staying in.
So grateful to live in this great nation.
10 The Lord nullifies the counsel of the nations;
He frustrates the plans of the peoples.
11 The counsel of the Lord stands forever,
The plans of His heart from generation to generation.
12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
The people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance.
13 The Lord looks from heaven;
He sees all the sons of men;
14 From His dwelling place He looks out
On all the inhabitants of the earth,
15 He who fashions the hearts of them all,
He who understands all their works.
God is eternal; nations are temporal.
No doubt that we have been blessed!

Blessed is the nation who’s God is the Lord…
We call our selves a Christian nation.
David Platt… God Govt and the Gospel
Is the US a christian nation? I would answer differently
Did many of the founders of the US generally believe the bible - yes.
Many cultural values were christian in nature.
Lot of that was not perfect for sure. Only applied to white people. NOT The native americans
Black slaves, Women
Is christianity the largest religion. Yes
Does the govt promote it as the national religion
Is the largest amount of Americans Christian. NO
Does media and universities and the govt promote this as the primary belief and moral basis for our nation? NO
Does the world measure Christianity by our media?
I am so grateful to live in AMERICA ! It does not take long to see how sinful and depraved humanity is. We are not a poster for following Christ. Stars and stripes traded for stress and strife. UNITED WE STAND. Divided over what seems like everything.
So Grateful for the Freedom we have to worship! To praise our Great God!
Land of the FREE and the Home of the Brave.
Land of the FREE Because of the Brave. My father and much of my family has served this nation and fought for the freedom that we have.
believers make the land they live in better by living as citizens of the kingdom of heaven here!

Jesus said my Kingdom is not of this realm! John 18:36
Citizens of the kingdom of Heaven understand they are members of the Kingdom of God!
The Lord Jesus is there! (Acts 1:11, 1 Thess 4:16)
The saints are there that have gone on before us and all the saints will be there in a time ahead of us! (Heb 12:23)
Our inheritance is there! (1 Peter 1:4)
Our treasure is there (Matt 6:20)
Authorities is the game warden in there.
1 Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.
2 Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves.
3 For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same;
4 for it is a minister of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil.
5 Therefore it is necessary to be in subjection, not only because of wrath, but also for conscience’ sake.
6 For because of this you also pay taxes, for rulers are servants of God, devoting themselves to this very thing.
7 Render to all what is due them: tax to whom tax is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor.
8 Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.
Honor authority
Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed,
to malign no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing every consideration for all men.
our call is not to submit to the govt but to the LORD!
We are not to allow our govt to become our GOD!
Our Hope is not in the govt.
Heard a pastor talking about a couple that were living together and desired to get married, but the
Good citizen of the kingdom will be a good citizen of the kingdom we are in temporarily.
Leave no trace camping.
Better than you found it
Aim at Heaven and you will get earth ‘thrown in’: aim at earth and you will get neither.” CS Lewis
It is possible to be so heavenly minded that we are of no earthly use.
Have you ever met one??
Calling to be heavenly minded. kingdom minded causes us to be of great good in the earthly kingdom we find ourselves in.
First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men,
for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.
This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,
Pray more than I post.
Be in supplication more than online scrolling.
Seek first HIS Kingdom and we will be difference makers in this kingdom.
But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it.
and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Be careful to be more concerned about advancing the gospel than non-gospel issues
Remember brothers and sisters, you are pastors, your job is to reach and disciple people of every political and ideological stripe and publicly taking sides on issues that aren’t gospel-issues helps only to advance one idea or another, but not advance the gospel (Phil. 1:12).

12 Gospel Truths
God’s Character
God alone, not govt is ultimately worthy of all glory.
To the extent that govt and leaders reflect the character of God,
Citizens of a temporary country here
Citizens of an eternal kingdom.
