Where Christ is

nothing else

Seated at the Right Hand

Significance of the right hand

Carries all the authority with equivalent power

Indispensable - necessary.

Set Your MIND on Things Above

Not on earthly things.

The difficulty of the matter....

our eyes see earthly things

our ears hear earthly things

But we set our heart, our minds on things of Christ… as we will explain further.

In all our trouble

News does not hold the answer

Media does not have the answer

That person sitting next to you .... they don’t have the answer.

You - You don’t have the answer

CHRIST IS THE ANSWER.

His all-knowing, all-powerful, and always present to fulfill His plan

And whatever His plan is, it is good

For You Died.... The Path to Glory

Colossians 3:3 ESV

For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

The person you were doesn’t exist anymore.

The person you are is hidden (protected and secure) in Him

Colossians 3:4 ESV

When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

He is Your GATEWAY TO GLORY & PATHWAY TO PEACE.

These Things Must Die

Colossians 3:5–11 ESV

Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. On account of these the wrath of God is coming. In these you too once walked, when you were living in them. But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth. Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator. Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all, and in all.

Your Earthly Desire.

They ARE in you.

In these you once walked.

Colossians 3:7 ESV

In these you too once walked, when you were living in them.

The list - not all inclusive but easily recognizable.

I don’t need to define them… unless your heart is completely hardened you fall victim to the temptations.

Dwelling on them is idolatry -

if we are to set our hearts and minds on things above and instead our hearts and minds are on things below, we have placed those things in the position where God should be - idolatry

Idolatry - the reason for wrath.

We already talked about the fact that ALL things were made through and for Him. If our life is in Him, He is before all things.

Rid Yourselves

Because you are not EARTHLY anymore.

We have the temptations that lead to emotions.

Colossians 3:8 ESV

But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth.

In there we also have the actions stemming from the emotions… slander, obscene talk.

Do not lie - the easiest and most obvious sin.

Put on the New self

Being renewed in knowledge (process of turning the thermostat takes practice.

The goal - We live in the image of Christ.

He is Your GATEWAY TO GLORY & PATHWAY TO PEACE.

It’s everyone’s job.....

Colossians 3:11 ESV

Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all, and in all.

These Things Must Live

As Chosen, Holy, and Loved - put on....

As Chosen, Holy, and Loved - that has put on...

Bear with one another

Forgive one another

As Chosen, Holy, and Loved - PUT ON LOVE

It’s how we bear with one another.

It’s how we forgive one another...

Look, people are people- the same temptations, the same emotions, the same ability to get distracted… they will do dumb things.

You must PUT ON LOVE

it will bind us together.

it will bring unity.

LET PEACE RULE

NOT ANXIETY

NOT DEPRESSION

NOT ANGER

NOT LOW SELF-ESTEEM

NOT VICTIM MENTALITY

....

How? - By staying in His Word?

Not just a message on His Bible - His Word.

But by what he calls you

A CHILD OF GOD

A CO-HEIR OF THE PROMISE WITH CHRIST

MORE THAN A CONQUEROR

A HOLY PRIESTHOOD

A ROYAL NATION

CALLED

PRECIOUS

CHOSEN

FORGIVEN

LOVED

DELIVERED

REDEEMED

THE BEAUTIFUL BODY OF CHRIST

THE BEAUTIFUL BRIDE OF CHRIST

To Teach and Admonish

help each other turn the thermostat

with wisdom

with singing and hymns

with thankfulness.....

What do we teach?

Your life is in Him. You are NOT controlled by earthly ways no more. While you may have negative emotions they are not who you are. You are not controlled by your misdeeds
