Hebrews 6:1–2 KJV 19001 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, 2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
A foundation is what you build upon

Principles provide the foundation
Principles provide the foundation
Principles are
++The basis for what we do
++They are the why for the what
Principles also denote
++The start of something
++The beginning
1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
Perfection is though of as
++Being error free
++Being without flaw
It doesn’t take long to realize how challenging this is

Eternal Judgement
Eternal Judgement
What is Judgement?
What is Judgement?
Throughout the Bible the word translated Judgement has a negative connotation.
To judge was
++To Condemn
++To Avenge
++To go to the law
++To bring damnation
This was the thought around Jesus’ admonishment
1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
There is another aspect of judgement
To judge is also
++To determine what is right
++To bring Justice
++To Asses
24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
3 But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man’s judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self.
2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
The Principle of Eternal Judgement
The Principle of Eternal Judgement
We are made in the image of God
We are made in the image of God
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
God is
++Eternal
++Creator
++Father -Son- Holy Spirit
Man is
++Connected to God
++Creative
++Body-Soul-Sprit
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Man was
++Made in God’s Image
++Made to be like God
++Blessed of God
++Given dominion
14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Sin is to
++miss the mark
++to not measure up
21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
Death is separation
++Physical
++Spiritual
++Relational
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
The Wrath of God
++Is not God’s Judgement upon man
++It is man’s Judgement of self
Why is the discussion of Sin important?
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
To understand grace
++We must be confronted by God
++We must be mad aware of his standard
++We must face the law
++We must know the reality of Sin.
34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
8 But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.
9 For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
Mankind always believed that he is right
2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: But the Lord pondereth the hearts.
Even when he is wrong
15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: But he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.
10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
