We have been a church that thrives and loves revelation.
We are a prophetic, apostolic church and revelation is a big part of being who we are.
We have also been a church and family of application, however we are moving more into application then ever before.
What is truth?
We have all heard the phrase ‘my truth’.
We are a blessed church to have a great revelation of Truth.
We know that the truth is a person, and that person is Jesus.
We know that people often perceive things that are true but that is not really the truth.
John 14:6 NASB95
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
Jesus said “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life...”
We are being called to a deeper level of our calling as a church.
We are to be a first fruits of demonstrating TRUTH as a family.
Every revelation of TRUTH is an invitation to a deeper LIFE with Jesus and a truer WAY of revealing Jesus.
Every revelation of Jesus is an invitation to a deeper relationship with Truth and a truer application of being like Jesus.
Every revelation of Truth is an invitation to a deeper relationship with Truth and a truer application of Truth.
Example:
Our body is the temple of Holy Spirit.
When Jesus showed up on the scene, He was rejected mostly because of a wrong application of the word of God.
The people who claimed to be followers of God loved their revelation of Him more then they loved God.
The people who did not know God wanted God after they saw an accurate, true living example of God.
Matthew 3:17 NASB95
17 and behold, a voice out of the heavens said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased.”
Holy Spirit will lead you to a place of testing to see if you believe the Truth of who He says you are.
Matthew 4:3 NASB95
3 And the tempter came and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”
Matthew 4:6 NASB95
6 and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down; for it is written, He will command His angels concerning You’; and On their hands they will bear You up, So that You will not strike Your foot against a stone.’ ”
The tempter comes with truth and twists the application of it.
Jesus simply replies it also says you shall not tempt God.
Jesus did not just know the word, He was the word made flesh.
He did not just know Truth he was the Way too.
He did not just have a revelation of God’s word He was the word and He is a true application of the Word.
Jesus is the true application of the Truth.
Closing:
Romans 12:1–2 NASB95
1 Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
Back to the my truth thing.
Because we have been a church of revelation, when someone says my truth we may get agitated. Because we recieved a revelation that the only Truth is Jesus or their is only one Truth.
We know there is a Truth we are aiming for, so we get frustrated when someone thinks they have the truth when they dont yet.
The fact is we have not fully attained the Truth yet either.
Our relationship with Jesus (Truth) will continue to reveal truth possibly forever.
Here is a better application of that revelation of truth.
We are all made in the image of God, yet we are all unique and different then each other.
This means that we are all made a part of the image of God not the full image of God.
You are a facet of Truth and if you do not embrace who you are a piece of God will not be scene.
It is not our responsibility to make or get others to demonstrate Truth.
If we all approached people knowing that you are a facet and he or she is a facet of God then we could become more together.
What if we display our part what Jesus (Truth) looks like and that is our primary concern?
What if we are like Jesus and we meet people right where they are and we love them?
We dont judge them but we clearly have judged what is not truth in our own lives.
We are being called to a deeper level of our calling as a church.
We are to be a first fruits of demonstrating TRUTH as a family.
This means we can not fall in love with revelation more than Jesus.
This means we can not fall in love with application more than Jesus.
We are ALife Church, and we are being called into a deeper relationship with Jesus, and this will produce a truer demonstration of being Abundant Life as a family.
Activation:
What is a revelation that God has given you?
Ask Jesus what are you inviting me into for our relationship?
Ask Jesus to to show you a truer way of revealing this Truth through your life.
Resources:
Matthew 4:1–11 NASB95
1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And after He had fasted forty days and forty nights, He then became hungry. 3 And the tempter came and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” 4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.’ ” 5 Then the devil took Him into the holy city and had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple, 6 and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down; for it is written, He will command His angels concerning You’; and On their hands they will bear You up, So that You will not strike Your foot against a stone.’ ” 7 Jesus said to him, “On the other hand, it is written, ‘You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’ ” 8 Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory; 9 and he said to Him, “All these things I will give You, if You fall down and worship me.” 10 Then Jesus said to him, “Go, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.’ ” 11 Then the devil left Him; and behold, angels came and began to minister to Him.
Titus 3:5 NASB95
5 He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,
Ephesians 5:26–27 NASB95
26 so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless.
