Intro.
Webster’s definition of pursuit is the act of pursuing. Webster’s definition of pursue is: to find or employ measures to obtain or accomplish: seek, to proceed along, 2chase. Now the definition of consistent is: marked by harmony, regularity, or steady continuity: free from variation or contradiction, showing steady conformity to character, profession, belief, or custom. Now when we put them together we get a steady chase or to steady seek.
The problem with today’s church is we lack consistency when it comes to the things of God. We’ve got a microwave complex, we think just because seek the things of God that we’re in pursuit. We pursue God long enough to get what we want and then we’re off again to what we do until everything in our lives start breaking down then we want to get some act right about us. We want to treat God like a carnival game, they give you certain amount of time either bust a ballon by filling it up with water from a water gun or by trying to knock over an object to win a prize.
You do all that work just to get a few tickets and you can’t even get a decent prize.
