Colossians 3:5–9 CSB

Because of these, God’s wrath is coming upon the disobedient, and you once walked in these things when you were living in them. But now, put away all the following: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and filthy language from your mouth. Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old self with its practices
The focus of foreknowledge and predestination, in this passage, is to be made to be like Jesus!
Colossians 3:10 CSB
and have put on the new self. You are being renewed in knowledge according to the image of your Creator.
Which is an aspect of the overall sovereign work of God in his relationship with us. And Paul doesn’t limit this kind of discussion to this one little place. We are getting ready to head into Romans 9 (eventually)…but he also says something about this just as, if not even more, directly in Ephesians 1...
Ephesians 1:4–5 CSB
For he chose us in him, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and blameless in love before him. He predestined us to be adopted as sons through Jesus Christ for himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
…and back to Ephesians 1.11
Ephesians 1:11 CSB
In him we have also received an inheritance, because we were predestined according to the plan of the one who works out everything in agreement with the purpose of his will,
