What about the Bible?

The Bible tells us the truth about who we are
Like a good friend who will tell you the truth about yourself.
True friends do not tell us what we want to hear, the tell us what we need to hear.
The Bible is a true friend to us.
Only when we can see the real problem can we come to the real solution.
The Bible tells us the truth about the world we live in.
God created, We fell, God rescued, God will restore
Creation:
Genesis 1:1 CSB
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Genesis 1:31 CSB
31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good indeed. Evening came and then morning: the sixth day.
Fall:
Romans 5:12 CSB
12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, in this way death spread to all people, because all sinned.
Redemption:
Romans 5:8 CSB
8 But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
John 3:16 CSB
16 For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
Ephesians 2:8–10 CSB
8 For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift—9 not from works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do.
Restoration
Revelation 21:5 CSB
5 Then the one seated on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new.” He also said, “Write, because these words are faithful and true.”
Evil and suffering are real
Only Christianity tells us that God did for us what we could not do for ourselves.
The Bibles tells us the truth about God.
A God of love, mercy, wrath, justice,
Exodus 34:6–7 CSB
6 The Lord passed in front of him and proclaimed: The Lord—the Lord is a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger and abounding in faithful love and truth, 7 maintaining faithful love to a thousand generations, forgiving iniquity, rebellion, and sin. But he will not leave the guilty unpunished, bringing the consequences of the fathers’ iniquity on the children and grandchildren to the third and fourth generation.
John 12:35–36 CSB
35 Jesus answered, “The light will be with you only a little longer. Walk while you have the light so that darkness doesn’t overtake you. The one who walks in darkness doesn’t know where he’s going. 36 While you have the light, believe in the light so that you may become children of light.” Jesus said this, then went away and hid from them.
