Welcome/Intro
Series Intro: What can you trust? (Anchor)
Sermon Intro (Two Foundations)
Proposition: The foundation you build your live on matters immensely.
Welcome
Pray
The Foundation Matters because you build everything in your life upon it.
Examples?
The Foundation Matters becuase everything you build will be tested by the storms of life
What will hold up when the rains, winds and floods come?
PIC of House
The Foundation matters becuase it is what we proclaim with our lives. (through word and deed)
What we hold dear we hold out
What is impressed on us is expressed through us.
Is your foundation solid?
If it is, what are you building?
Are you telling others about the foundation?

Version 2

Appeal: intellectual
Proposition: God’s Word is the Only source of Truth we have.
If we can see where we are going, we will stumble.
God’s Word is a light unto a Path.
But its more than that, it’s a foundation to build you life upon
Two Goals of this Sermon:
Convince you of the Necessity of the Truth the Bible Reveals
Equip you to handle basic arguments against the Word of God
Emotional Pull:
How do you know what to hold on to?
Why can you trust the bible?
It was written out side of this time and culture
It has outlasted every-time period it has been apart of
It is the best selling book of all time.
What does the Bible Teach us?

Outline 1

The Presenting Problem: What we build our life on eternally matters.
Some are on good foundation, others are not
One will crumble the other will stand.
Which foundation are you on?
Three Truths on Two Foundations:
Three Truths God’s Words tells us:
The Truth about the World we Live in (Creation, Fall, Redemption, Restoration)
The Truth about who we are (Broken Male & Female image bearing worshippers to steward the earth to the glory of God)
Gen 1:26-27, Gen 2:7 (Living Creature)
The Truth about who God is (Loving, Merciful, Just, Holy, Compassionate, Redeemer)
Exodus 24:6-7, John 1:1-4 (Jesus is God)
Proposition: The foundation you build your life on matters.
Either on the Word of God
Or on the Word of Man
Three Main Points:
Creation
Creation vs. Evolution
Meaning vs. no meaning
What’s Wrong: (Symptom)
Human Hearts vs. Human Brains
Spiritual Reality vs. Material Reality
“In Here Problem” vs. “out there problem”
Nobody lives up to their own standards.
Solution
Total make over by Christ vs. Superficial Make Over
New Heart vs. New Ideas/Innovations/Inventions
Bonus Point:
the Bible tells us the truth we need to hear not the truth we want to hear.
Like a good friend.
Proverbs 27:6 ESV
6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend; profuse are the kisses of an enemy.

The wounds of a friend are meant to cut to the heart for the good of the person, whereas the kisses of an enemy are devised to appease the heart in order to hide the hurt that has or is to come (v. 6). Cf. 28:23.
