But their scribes and Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with publicans and sinners? And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
And they said unto him, Why do the disciples of John fast often, and make prayers, and likewise the disciples of the Pharisees; but thine eat and drink? And he said unto them, Can ye make the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days.

IT’S TIME FOR A SPIRITUAL MEDICAL CHECKUP
INTRODUCTION:
We are living in a sick, sick world. Most everyone at one time or another has made a trip to the doctor's office.
Such a venture may be very revealing, profitable, and rewarding, especially when the doctor gives you a clean bill of health.
It may be heart-breaking and disappointing if the examination reveals serious illness or disease. Physical illness is not the world's greatest problem.
The greatest problem in the world today is spiritual sickness. People all over the world are spiritually sick.
Christ is the Great Physician. Let the Greatest Doctor of all ages give you a spiritual check-up.
LET THE GREAT PHYSICIAN EXAMINE YOUR HEART
Is it deceitful and wicked?
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
Is it hardened against God?
Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
The heart can be fixed.
O God, my heart is fixed;
I will sing and give praise,
Even with my glory.
Fixed by believing.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Fixed to win souls.
Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
LET THE GREAT PHYSICIAN EXAMINE YOUR EYES
Is there no fear of God before your eyes?
There is no fear of God before their eyes.
Has darkness blinded your eyes?
But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.
Opened to turn from darkness to light?
To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
Opened to see Jesus, and know Him?
And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.
Opened to study the Scriptures?
And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
Opened to see the invisible resources of God?
And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
LET THE GREAT PHYSICIAN EXAMINE YOUR EARS
Do you have ears but hear not?
Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not:
Do you have ears dull of hearing?
For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
Are your ears turned away from the truth?
And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
Do your ears need to be opened
To hear the still small voice of God.
And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.
To have faith. "Faith cometh by hearing."
