God's Word is a Force of Nature are you in it?

Introduction.

“Whoever has ears ought to hear.” We all have ears don’t’ we? Most of us can hear, can’t we? Someone in the back said what? “Whoever has ears ought to hear.” I think Jesus is talking about more than just having physical ears to hear with. When we hear the parable of the sower, seed that is the word of God and different soils we can’t help naturally focus inwardly wondering what type of soil am I today, am I bearing fruit, how much and so forth and so on? But our readings today not only help us focus inwardly on our finite selves, but draws us out to God’s creative and transformative word, that is infinitely good true and beautiful. A force of Nature.

In our first reading the prophet Isaiah talks about, rain and snow coming from the sky watering the earth making it fertile and fruitful and returning again to repeat the cycle of life. He says God’s word is just like that a force of nature that is sent over and over again to accomplish the purpose for which it was sent. Isaiah says God’s word will not return to him void. God has been pouring out his word on earth from day 1 creating all that is beautiful good and true. God has also been warning of the grave consequences of ignoring and going against his word, the Natural Law and the Commandment, the results of which is what we are experiencing in these miserable days of 2020. Pestilence and Pandemic, and losing our God given rights and freedoms, hatred and murder, lawlessness and destruction. (to power hungry arbitrary politicians)

Conclusion.

Yes, God’s word is force of nature. God keeps sending it to keep cultivating rich soil in every heart. It is the goodness of God word that leads one to repentance and back to God, to peace and righteousness, to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, God’s word makes one wise and bear much fruit, the fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control). God’s word is a lamp for our feet, a light for our paths to see what is close up and far ahead, especially in these perilous days.” The question is, are we into God’s word? How much of it makes it into our hearts at Mass, how often do we open our Bibles for prayerful reading, for seeking wisdom and guidance from God, for empowerment and boldness from the Holy Spirit to go into the world, to live the word, and proclaim all the truth in God’s word. Things may get a lot worse quickly in this world, but we must embrace ourselves and staying on the path of truth and righteousness, loving God and Neighbor as ourselves. “Whoever has ears ought to hear.”
