Revelation 12:11 NKJV
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.
1 John 1:5–9 NKJV
5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 2:3–6 NKJV
3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. 6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.
Keep: tere
to observe (conform) v. — to conform one’s action or practice to.
Hebrews 9:13–14 NKJV
13 For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh, 14 how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Ephesians 2:13 NKJV
13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
don’t “walk” in darkness.
DO walk with your conscience clear.
Imagine a force of men and women of God, walking out into the world, knowing they’ve been cleared! Knowing their sin isn’t just forgiven, it’s CLEANSED!
Whatever you’re doing, whatever your attitude is about your family, your community, your classmates, your coworkers, whatever it is, is it the attitude of someone who walks in the light and has been cleansed?! Is the attitude of someone who was not merely forgiven, but CHANGED AND REDEEMED! CALLED when you deserved punishment?
One of the most difficult things to understand about God, is him using us “anyway.”
how many of you have an “anyway”?
Ephesians 2:13 NKJV
13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
We haven’t merely been forgiven, we’ve been BROUGHT NEAR!
He doesn’t just forgive us, He trusts us again!
He doesn’t just forgive us, He opens promises and blessings to us!
He doesn’t just forgive us, He
We deserved revenge! We deserved punishment! When He could have been vindictive, when He could have REPAID US, when He could have made us suffer, HE BROUGHT US NEAR!!!!
He has entrusted us with His plans! He’s entrusted us with His kingdom! He’s entrusted us with His weapons!!!!
The LAST THING any person in this room would do to someone that had wronged you, someone who’d betrayed you, someone who was evil, someone who has a list of betrayals so long it could wrap around the earth twice, is BRING THEM NEAR, but that’s EXACTLY what His blood does!
if You don’t spend time in His presence DAILY! If you don’t start walking in the light! If you don’t get up and dust yourself off EVERY TIME YOU SIN, you’re not living like somebody who’s been brought near!
You’re making the Blood of Jesus out to be what YOUR blood would do.
2 Peter 1:5–9 NKJV
5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, 6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, 7 to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. 8 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.
is your prayer life one of someone who has been brought near?
are your conversations those of someone who’s been BROUGHT NEAR?!
Is your attitude those of someone who’s been BROUGHT NEAR?!
Are your posts those of someone who’s been BROUGHT NEAR!
