An Awesome Answer

Ac 12:6–19

6 And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison. 7 And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands. 8 And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me. 9 And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision. 10 When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him. 11 And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews. 12 And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying.

13 And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came to hearken, named Rhoda. 14 And when she knew Peter’s voice, she opened not the gate for gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate. 15 And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel. 16 But Peter continued knocking: and when they had opened the door, and saw him, they were astonished. 17 But he, beckoning unto them with the hand to hold their peace, declared unto them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said, Go shew these things unto James, and to the brethren. And he departed, and went into another place. 18 Now as soon as it was day, there was no small stir among the soldiers, what was become of Peter. 19 And when Herod had sought for him, and found him not, he examined the keepers, and commanded that they should be put to death. And he went down from Judaea to Caesarea, and there abode.

Introduction

The news reports are advising of the horrific rise in COVID-19 cases.

Society is rapidly changing before many are ready

We are shopping now more on Amazon than in Walmart

Most are now cooking at home while our favorites restaurants are operating half staffed if opened all

Our beaches and parks are closed

Many companies have shifted to working from home or no work at all

Our worship centers has moved to virtual

We are bound to our homes in the name of safety

We have been placed on lock-down

While the enemy is making plans for us

If we can come together and pray

While we are praying

God will take the opposition we are facing

Send an Angel from Heaven

Break the shackles off our lives

While we are praying

Be obedient to the divine word

And let God lead us from bondage

Yet while we are praying

Miracles are taking place in our lives

God is making opposition opportunity

While we are praying, God is going to blow our minds

When the church prays together

The unbelievable becomes unstoppable

The impossible is possible

An awesome answer will show up

And knock on your door

states that for every action (force) in nature there is an equal and opposite reaction.

What are you saying preacher?

As long as you stay in place you will not have any opposition

But when you move, so does opposition

the greater your move, the greater your opposed

When we are facing opposition

Often we feel as if we are in bondage

Life tends to have a grip on us that won’t let go

Peter was bound with two guards

An two more was watching the door

There was chains on his legs

And chains on his arms

Life sometimes tie us all up the same way

We are bound to people who are setting us up for failure

Others are on watch to make sure we don’t get out

And all these negativity, naysayers and nags

Are holding you in place.

Peter was on death row

No way to get free

Yet Peter could sleep in confidence

My Brother’s and Sister’s

When life has you bound

And you don’t have no place to go

Look to Jesus and pray

Jesus have prayed for you,

The Church is praying for you,

All you have to do operate in faith

Let go and let God

He will provide

An awesome an answer

Obedience

8 And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.

One thing we must learn is to hear the voice of the angel that is leading us to freedom and be obedience.

When God send his angel you will know

He will brighten up a dark place in your life.

He will disturb the norm

He will shake the shackles

God’s angel will loose you from the negative, naysayers and the nags

God’s angel will lead and guide you from bondage to freedom

Gird thyself and bind on thy sandals

And so he did (talking about Peter)

In other words get prepared

Something is about to happen

COVID may have you bound but something is about to happen

Your finances may have you bound but something is about to happen

Your job situation may have you bound but something is about to happen

God’s angel is saying

Get ready

what has you bound, will loose you

The enemy has plans for your demise

But God is about to cancel the enemy’s plans

Because God’s is going to direct your life

Obey the instructions of God’s angel

He has been sent to lead you from opposition to opportunity

God will provide an awesome answer

Opportunity

15 And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel. 16 But Peter continued knocking: and when they had opened the door, and saw him, they were astonished.

One thing I love about my God,

When He’s providing a rescue mission

When He’s loosing your bonds

When He’s breaking your chains

When He’s changing the course of your life

When He’s interrupting the enemies plans,

When He’s raising you up

You’ll be in the middle of the miracle

You can’t believe your eyes,

You can’t believe your experience,

You can’t believe your position

You can’t believe your power

You can’t believe your opposition, Is now opportunity

When you recognize that it’s not a dream

But it’s divine,

You’ll have a chance be a witness

And testify what the Lord has done.

He pick me up and turn me around

Place my feet on a higher ground

An awesome answer

When the church prays

Conclusion

When Peter made it to John-Mark’s house

The church was still praying

While they were praying

The answer to their prayers was knocking at the gate

While the church was praying Peter was knocking

When must realized church when God has already answered

The answer is at the gate but we are still praying

Rhoda the slave, answered the door

Rhoda in Greek is Rose,

Why did Luke pen in that Rose was a slave

I believe the leaders was focused on running prayer meeting

The members was focused on the service

The least of them all, the one that no one would noticed,

The humbled servant, would be the one to receive the answer

Yall, didn’t get that,

We must be humble enough to receive what we’ve been praying for

Everybody won’t get it,

Everyone won’t receive it,

Somebody won’t believe it,

But the answer is at the gate, knocking

They might call you crazy,

Your seeing things.

It’s an angel.

Be like Rose and stand firm on your blessing

Know that you know, what you know

They will soon see for themselves

That God has provided an awesome answer

COVID is on the rise,

But God, has an awesome answer

Never the less, not my will but thy will be done,

We were bound by sin

He hung bleed and died

he rose on the 3rd day

He ascended in to heaven

an awesome answer

God sent his angel to set us free

an awesome answer

Man couldn’t do it, we needed

an awesome answer

Jesus is the solution

Jesus is the problem solver

Jesus is the answer

When the church prayed in the upper room

about 120,

When the church prayed,

they got on one accord,

When the church prayed God sent and awesome answer

It came as a mighty rushing wind

lit on them as clove toughs of fire

The Holy Spirit is the awesome answer

If you have Spirit, you have the Son

If you have the Son, you have the Father.

If you have the Father you have the answer.
