1 Kings 22 - Ahab’s End
The Reason
It’s no surprise to see that judgment comes on Ahab (16:33, 21:25-26).
Who you listen to is an indication of where your heart really is (2 Timothy 4:3).
It is our position to look to God for truth, tremble at His word, and seek Him.
Disaster came on Ahab because he knew better and yet rejected God.
The Judgment
Ahab goes into battle disguised to avoid God’s judgment (vs29-31).
Ahab is killed by a seemingly random yet divinely appointed arrow (vs34).
Rebellion isolates you from the truth about sin and so, also from salvation.
God is unavoidable.
God’s Power
Ahab learns what was happening “behind the scenes” to bring about his end (vs19-23).
God is in control even over evil actions to accomplish His purposes.
Joseph (Genesis 50:20) and Jesus (Acts 2:23) are examples of God’s control over evil.
Knowing God is in control, we can step out in faith as we serve Him.
