Renewing of our Mind
Romans 12 is what God told us to lead us in these times.
1 Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
Last week we talking about when we say or hear someone say “my truth”.
We talked about the Truth being a person.
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
Jesus said “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life...”
31 So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”
The Truth makes you free.
“If you continue in My word...”
How do we continue in His word over us?
There are many thoughts coming our way these days.
The world is ending.
Our country is going to only get worse.
We will never beat racism.
We will never get along.
This is the only way it will work.
Personal:
I am never going to be enough.
I will never get what I am aiming for.
I will never matter.
I will always be last.
I am to ugly, fat, short...
I am never going to fit in.
Do your thoughts rule you or are you ruling your thoughts?
Do your thoughts rule you or are you ruling your thoughts?
5 We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,
Does Jesus take your thoughts captive?
Did Jesus say He would rule your thoughts?
Take your thoughts captive and replace them with His Words.
Jesus tells us to let His Words sink in our hearts.
Let His words spring forth like water to your soul.
The Truth makes you free.
We have a role to play, especially when it comes to thoughts that are not Truth in our lives.
“If you continue in My word...”
How do you continue in His Word?
We have to build a muscle of taking thoughts that are not truth and replace them with HIS WORD.
Continue In His Word is to believe His word over thoughts.
I am not even going to say OUR or MY thoughts, because that is not what they are.
To believe His word over what we see yet.
To see His Words before we see the fruit of His Word yet.
If you believe His word then your body will follow. “Bodies a living sacrifice.”
Declaring His Word will renew your mind to become the mind of Christ, and in turn, you will become a manifestation of His Word.
The best word to declare is a personal word from Jesus with emotions attached.
If you cant think of a personal word then we can go to His Words to find a generic truth.
Declaring His Word in your life with emotion and passion will cement His word in your heart.
Example:
Why does that thought have so much power in your life.
There is emotions and attached that made that lie sink in your heart.
Joanna and our Youth camping trip.
Toxic thoughts produce death.
God’s Word produces Life.
Body, Soul and Spirit
Your Body will take shape around the words you believe are True.
Your Soul will take shape around the words you believe are True. Mind, Will and Emotions.
Your Spirit will take shape around the words you believe are True.
Promises:
You are adopted as hears in Christ.
All things work together for God for those who are in Christ Jesus.
Nothing can separate you from the love of God.
I will never leave you.
You are a daughter or son of God.
His yoke is easy and light.
He is my strength and my refuge.
He will never flood the earth again.
God is good and He loves you.
His Grace is sufficient (more then enough for you to become His Word.)
Activation:
1. What thought has been robbing you of peace?
- What will happen if you keep those thoughts as yours?
2. Take that thought and give it to Jesus.
3. What WORD is Jesus telling you?
- If His Word is really true, what will happen in your life?
Connect His Word to your heart as truth. Feel It...
4. Ask Jesus for a memory of when His Word in you was true?
Part #2
Stand Firm
Stand Firm
1 It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.
What I have heard about thoughts becoming captive, is that it felt we were under those toxic thoughts before and now we are over them.
We were a slave to those thoughts or beliefs and now we are free from the word inside us.
Today we want to encourage you to stand firm, and show you some ways to do just that.
8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. 9 The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
13 I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
We stand firm by shifting and keeping our focus on these things.
We stand firm by practicing or taking a leap of faith in response to His voice. What he told us.
If i really believed this then what would I do different today?
When your are confronted with that same challenge AGAIN, stop and ask yourself how does this new me handle this?
What is happening when you let His Word sink in?
12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Stages of the sword piercing:
Denial, not willing to look, look how this applies to others instead,
Confusion, others may see it and you get confused, that is not me,
Sober, humble, shock, sorry, here is where you see your impact on others and yourself and God.
Grief, heart hurts because what it thought it was is not what you projected
Filling, You fill with His love, others love, dont leave this too early, let Him really fill you. Clarity and even more WORD.
Activate, Step out as if that is true already, pour out to others, stepping out in faith.
If we stop in any of these stages then we wont be able to stand firm.
Declaring His Word will renew your mind to become the mind of Christ, and in turn, you will become a manifestation of His Word.
When you focus on the things of God and His word to you, your life becomes empowered in your body, soul, and spirit.
I am Brave Heart.
I am a head of a house who is a scribe drawing out treasures of things ancient and things new.
I am His living Word made flesh and I will inspire, and empower others to become His Living Word.
Closing:
Did you feel like a slave to negative thoughts?
Share if that has changed or not yet.
Are you at any of these stages?

Ask God to give you a song or prophecy that helps his word sink in you?
Ephesians 6 says take on the full amor of God.
Take up the full armor of God and stand firm in His words over you.
Resources:
13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. 14 Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
10 After Jesus called the crowd to Him, He said to them, “Hear and understand. 11 “It is not what enters into the mouth that defiles the man, but what proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man.”
5 He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,
26 so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless.
