Failure may seem inevitable but it is never final (fished all night)Michael Jordan the amazing basketball player once came out to a cheering crowd and said, "I've missed 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost 300 games. Twenty-six times I've been trusted to take the game-winning shot and I have missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life." After a dramatic pause he continued with, "That's why I succeed." Michael refused to focus on his failures.Failure is never final unless you quit. [1]Failure may seem impossible, but it may open the way for a miracleJust catching a fish or two wouldn't have been so great - but it was so many that their failure was lost in the joy of the miracle of Jesus. Failure may label you, but it doesn't have to identify you - All of us no doubt of regrets, things we are ashamed or embarrassed of in our past. Maybe we even go so far as to feeling guilty or sorry for those things again. I like the old song the Speer Family used to sing -

1. I remember the days when I was bent low with the burdens of sin and strife

Then Jesus came in and rescued me and gave me a brand new life.

Now as I thank Him day after day for washing my sins away,

It seems I can almost hear the voice of the blessed Savior say.

Your past failure isn't the Present FactMy Chains are gone - Those chains of sin and guilt, shame and failure - can just as easily be taken off by Jesus as it was to cause those hundreds of fish to jump into the disciples net. Is anything to hard for God? I SAY A RESOUNDING NO!!! HALLELUJAH!!!No Longer a slave to fear - I heard a newer worship song recently that struck a chord in my heart - resonated with me - I praise God that when, yes even when we have made a mess of our lives, ended up with nothing but failure and loss that he can take up those broken strings and messed up smudged up paintings and start over - The Bible says A NEW CREATURE IN CHRIST JESUS - not the same as before - something new brand new. The song I was talking about says - "No Longer Slaves"

There is Power in the Blood of JesusGod's Dishwasher - Have you ever gone to a restaurant that had real silverware, not that plastic stuff. Have you ever thought about where all it had been? Perhaps dropped on the floor, maybe in the garbage and someone dug it out of the trash. Perhaps someone with some kind horrible contagious disease used it last. If you are like me you try not to think of those things. I am comforted by one thing - the health department hasn't shut them down so that means - that restaurant no doubt somewhere back there in the kitchen has something called a dishwasher - that dishwasher takes that fork and others like it just as dirty and soiled, puts it through a process of soap and extremely hot water, and by the time it is done it is safe and clean to use again.[4]While this may be a poor example - I want you to know this morning that if you have been made dirty, soiled, failed - that God has a dishwasher - it doesn't use soap and hot water - it uses the precious blood of Jesus Christ - It is the blood of Jesus that brings us nighIt is the blood of Jesus that cleansesIt is the precious blood of Jesus that purchased us - Not just patch - but create anew - take away the past - that is not us anymore.Maybe last night you sinned, perhaps you failed all last week - but I am here to let you know on the authority of God's word you don't have ot leave here that same person - There is a God in heaven that says - Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you restThat says - If we confess our sin - he is faithful and just to forgive us our sin and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness

Saved to the uttermost - Maybe you have been toiling along time - fishing from the worlds side of the pond - filled with regret, shame, fear, failure - Let me tell you to switch sides - that’s all Jesus told them to do launch out and cast on the right side - and brother - those disciples were so happy and moved when they started to bring in the net that Peter fell on his face, they all forsook everything and followed Jesus - Verse 11. My friend you will never be sorry you came to Jesus either.
