Walk rightly with God by valuing His word (1-4)

Do not forget my law
The Law means God’s word
Let your heart keep my commands
Difference between remembering and obedience?

They will add to you: In Principle not an absolute promise

Let not Mercy and Truth forsake you

Proverbs 16:6
Bind them…write them
So find favor (Joseph, Moses and David)
The purpose of Mercy

Walk rightly with God by truly trusting Him

Trust in the Lord
Word translated trust in verse 5?
With all your heart
Perfect trust in God?
More on “with all your heart”

Lean not on your own understanding

Lean not
In all your ways acknowledge Him
He shall direct your paths
The surrendered heart
How can I know the will of God?

Walk rightly with God by a humble, reverent life

Do not be wise in your own eyes
Fear the Lord and depart from evil
It will be health to your flesh (note on flesh)

Walk rightly with God in regard to your possessions

Honor the Lord with your possessions
Honor
With the firstfruits of all your increase
So your barns will be filled with plenty (New wine)

Receiving correction from God with the right heart

Do not despise the chastening of the Lord
Nor detest His correction
For whom the Lord loves He corrects
A Father who truly loves his children
