Introduction

Environmental Mentality, What is environmental mentality?

Environmental Mentality is encompassing natural environment, social settings, built environments, learning environments, and informational environments

In other words when a person is affected mentally by their natural, social, built, learning and informational environment

Okay, when and individual’s mindset is similar the people they hang around

Birds of the same feather flock together

When a individual’s mindset is crippled by the places they go

If you lie down with dogs, you will get up with fleas

Our mindsets is shaped and conditioned by

Our education, our communities, and even ourselves

You are, who you are, because of environmental mentality

I am, who I am, because of environmental mentality

And sometimes environmental mentality can condition you to an area in life

Where you feel distressed, damaged, and full of doubt

Environmental mentality will make you believe

That your all alone, the world has forgotten you, and you just want to give up

It’s been this way for years and this is the way that it’s going to be

I am just going to lay here until the day I die

If you are that person I am speaking to today

You feel that all is lost,

I must ask the same question, the Messiah asked the man

Wilt thou be made whole?

Do you want to make it to the destination God is calling you too

Are you willing to get out of your dilemma and walk in your destiny

There is a GPS, Get up, Pick up, and Step

Overcoming the Environmental Mentality

Get Up (Rise)

Jesus was on his way to to Jerusalem

He enter by the sheep gate ( the same gate Nehemiah was in charge of restoring)

There was a pool call Bethesda (the house of kindness, aka mercy)

The pool had 5 five porches ( Five is the number of grace)

If your going to be anywhere with a environmental mentality

If your going hangout somewhere with a lot of hangups

You should be at the house of grace and mercy

If your are in a place of pity, instead of power, in your life

You should be at the house of grace and mercy

Noticed at this house there were Impotent folk (sick and feeble)

There were at the house blind (can’t see)

There were at the house halt (crippled, lame)

There were at the house withered (paralyzed)

You see it’s okay to hang out at the house

Because we all have sinned and come short of His glory

The house might not be perfect, and neither the people in it

But it’s the place of grace and mercy.

Because every now an then, an angel comes from heaven and troubles the water

When the water is trouble someone gets healed

When the water is troubled someone gets delivered

Miracles happen when the water is trouble

So just wait by pool in the house because deliverance is coming

Wait by pool in the house because healing is coming

Wait because there is where you will receive your miracle

I do know how and I do know when

But I do know that your deliverance is coming

You just need to wait at the house of grace and mercy

The man who’d be in his condition 38 years

He was waiting at the house of grace and mercy,

While he was waiting, he seen the water get trouble,

While he was waiting, he saw other get healed

While he was waiting became content with his condition

He got satisfied with his situation

Brokenness became a way of life

Beaten down became a norm

I know you understand how this man must have felt

Because life has crippled you,

The job has beaten you down,

Family has left you all alone

And you have been in that place so long

It has become a way of like for you,

You attend your church services, but no changes,

You do what is required, but no changes

You seen them come and seen them go

But for you no changes

But I need to tell you this morning that one day

Jesus asked the man a question

Wilt thou be made whole?

The man been in that condition so long,

He’d been in that condition so long

The environmental mentality had set in

He gave an answer of a defeat

He said I have no man,

when the water is troubled,

to put me into the pool:

but while I am coming,

another steppeth down before me

I come to tell you this day,

Help is on the way

Rise, take up thy bed and walk.

It’s time to overcome environmental mentality

Rise, I know the waters not troubled but Rise

I know you are watching one after the other being blessed

Today is your day Rise

I know your environment says it’s not possible

But Rise

I know Hater’s say you can’t do it but Rise

I know the odds are stack against you but Rise

It’s been a long time, Rise

Your are an overcomer Rise

Get Up

Pick up(Take Up)

While you are Getting up,

Pick up, take up

Your Bed

The very thing you laid on all of these years

The place your got comfortable in

Pick it up

It sounds tough when your just coming out grief and someone says get over it

Heart has been broken and your told to forgive and forget

Hater’s has slapped you in the face, and need to turn the other cheek

You don’t feel like you have the strength

Your just getting on your feet,

But Jesus says Pick it up

All the issues you have, Pick them up

All sorrows, Pick them Up

All the pain, Pick them up

Count it Joy and Pick it up

Take up Sickness

Take up Finances

Take up troubles

Walk

Overcome Environmental Mentality

Step(Walk)

Not only has Jesus said Rise,

Not only has he said Take up the bed,

He’s advising you to walk

To go forward,

Yes, you have been laying around for 38 years,

Yes, you have been in the midst of impotent folk

Yes, you been among the bind and the halt

Yes, you have been with the withered

But now it’s your time, to go forward

You seen them come and yo seen them go

It’s your turn now, to go forward

With our troubles go

With our brokenness go

With our weaknesses go

Because Jesus has given you the power to to Rise, take up and walk

Jesus has spoken his word in you

You’d didn’t have reach for his garment

He’s didn’t lay His hands on you

He just spoke the word get up and go

He spoke the word rise up and run

He spoke the word and immediately wholeness

Immediately strengthen

Immediately power

Overcoming environmental mentality

Conclusion

We all have sinned an come short of His glory,

We all have experienced issues

We all have experienced problems,

We all have experienced bad situations

But baby do let that keep you from the house of Grace and Mercy

The pretend to be perfect christian has had issues too

Wait in the house not for them but for you

You may see then come and see them go

You might see them getting blessed,

One after the other,

Don’t you worry stay in the house

Because when Jesus shows up

He’s going to identify you

And speak you to you

Hear the voice of Christ

Get up

Pick up

Step

your destiny is waiting

your destination is waiting

Is time for us to overcome environmental mentality

For we are more than conquers.
