Introduction

14007 days…That was the number of days that Jason lived on the earth. Not near enough for our liking. Each of us have a set, certain number of days in which we will live here before going to eternity. For most of us, we see a lot of life and a lot of change during the course of our days.
Even someone who lives a mere 38 years there is a lot to see.
Jason was kind, fun and talented. He was good in sports and art…and a good friend. he made everyone around him better for knowing him.
In 1982
Average Cost of new house $82,200 Median Price Of and Existing Home $67,800 Average Income per year $21,050.00 Average Monthly Rent $320.00 Cost of a gallon of Gas 91 cents New Car Average price $7,983.00
Thriller by Michael Jackson was the big album of the year…ET and Rocky 3 were the big films and David Letterman debuted on NBC.
The first issue of USA Today was published and Epcot opened at Disneyworld.
The first CD player was sold in Japan and Time Magazine’s man of the year was The Computer.
A lot was packed into the last 38 years. In fact, compared to the lives of our grandfathers…Jason experienced many lifetimes of change in his short 38 years on earth.
But this life is short regardless of the number of our days…and it moves fast. All of us come to the end of our journey. In light of this fact it is so very important that we are prepared for what comes next.

The Future

John 14:1-2
John 14:1–2 NLT
“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?
Jesus was about to leave the earth and His disciples were about to face a very difficult time. It is always difficult when we see those we love suffer and die. They were soon to experience this…Jesus would go to the cross and die for our sins.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
1 Thessalonians 4:13–18 NLT
And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died. We tell you this directly from the Lord: We who are still living when the Lord returns will not meet him ahead of those who have died. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever. So encourage each other with these words.
We do not grieve as those who do not have hope
John 3:16
John 3:16 NLT
“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
This is our road to salvation
