Introduction

The great book of Hebrews is a treatise on our Salvation in Christ as Better than all the sacrifices of the Old Testament. It gives us great teaching and the disciple of Christ will do well to walk through it carefully. I was led to this sermon by doing a search on the word HOPE in the book of Hebrews! It’s in the Bible 7 times and it’s the same greek word each time. It means expectation and hope. For the believer this Hope becomes a lifestyle and so this morning I want to draw your attention to these verses in Hebrews with 6 principles we’ve discovered along the way. The title of the message this morning is “Christian Hope” Christian hope is distinguished from general hope because we hope in something that is certain and assured. Because Christ died on the Cross we have a real and abiding hope. Paul the apostle said as much in Romans 8:24

Now in this hope we were saved, but hope that is seen is not hope, because who hopes for what he sees?
