Open Heaven

One of my biggest passions is to see people reach the potential God has for them. (Børn from Azusa club story) If the church is the hope for the world, then we must be able to offer and show something that the world does not have. The church needs to be a direct link to God, an open heaven (Stargate - different dimensions example) This should be the church. What I mean by the church, is us, we are the church Genesis 28:10 Now Jacob went out from Beersheba and went toward Haran. So, he came to a certain place and stayed there all night, because the sun had set. And he took one of the stones of that place and put it at his head, and he lay down in that place to sleep. Then he dreamed, and behold, a ladder was set up on the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and there the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. And behold, the Lord stood above it and said: “I am the Lord God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and your descendants. Also your descendants shall be as the dust of the earth; you shall spread abroad to the west and the east, to the north and the south; and in you and in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed. Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.” Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it.” And he was afraid and said, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven!” (Side note: stone-head-oil-picture of us in Jesus) What were the elements of this open heaven? 1. Heaven and earth were connected 2. Angels were descending and ascending 3. God is speaking Heaven and earth are connected. What does that look like? I think it can be best described in one word, UNITY! (My dad’s war story – encountering the enemy) - We all drink from the same living water We must love each other for the world to experience God They will know you are my disciples by the way you love each other Angels were descending and ascending. An image of co-laboring / ambassadors - We are seated in heavenly places We can take hold of every spiritual blessing We are co-laborers with Jesus God is speaking. To us and through us - Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. (Our testimony is God speaking through us) We have access to a continuous open heaven... Isaiah 64:1 If only You would tear the heavens open and come down... Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Let us make this lofty spiritual expression into something tangible that transforms our surroundings and the people in it Unity – Co-laborers – God is Speaking (testimony)
