Food/water and Clothing
Without these, you will suffer and die.
None of us are worried about where our next meal is coming from, or that we will have to go naked.
We have to invent things to worry about.

Reasons we don’t proclaim the gospel.
Reasons we don’t proclaim the gospel.
Fear is always in the top 5. Fear we don’t know enough Scripture, fear of what people will think of us, fear of rejection, fear that we will be persecuted. Fear of what might happen if we do. Fear of man
25 The fear of man brings a snare,
But he who trusts in the Lord will be exalted.
Most important needs. / most basic needs.
Most important needs. / most basic needs.
26 “Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?
Jesus is advocating trust in God, not laziness.
6 Go to the ant, O sluggard,
Observe her ways and be wise,
7 Which, having no chief,
Officer or ruler,
8 Prepares her food in the summer
And gathers her provision in the harvest.
What He is saying, don’t stress, worry or be anxious about it.
27 “And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life?
Don’t worry about not having clothes to wear.
Lilies of the field (don’t toil or spin) Not even Solomon had such nice clothes.
30 “But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith!
Don’t worry about what you will eat or drink or what clothes you will wear. God knows you need these things.
33 “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
The five level of the hierarchy of needs are:
Physiological Needs
Safety Needs
Social Needs
Esteem Needs
Self-Actualization Needs
Physiological Needs
This passage
Safety Needs
1 God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
Social Needs
15 “No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.
Esteem Needs
6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time,
Self-Actualization Needs
28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
34 “So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
You only have today! We can’t do anything to change the past, and you can’t do anything tomorrow.
Kung fu Panda
Oogway: Yesterday is History, Tomorrow a mystery, but today is a gift, that is why it is called the present.
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
See, we know how our story ends.
2 “But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings; and you will go forth and skip about like calves from the stall.
