What does it mean to be a Herald?

And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Most High; for you will go before the Lord to prepare his ways,

What does this even mean for us?

Trust God

Be a herald like John

Luke 1:77–79 ESV

to give knowledge of salvation to his people in the forgiveness of their sins, because of the tender mercy of our God, whereby the sunrise shall visit us from on high to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.”

Look at the world around you. What can you do to be a herald of the Gospel to those in your life? It can be a simple and small as a kind word or action towards someone who needs it, it could be letting someone know that Jesus loves them and that he died for their sins so that they can have a relationship with him. Whatever it is, I encourage you, if you truly believe the Gospel is good news, let someone know.
