Doctrine (from Latin: doctrina, meaning "teaching" or "instruction") is a codification of beliefs or a body of teachings or instructions, taught principles or positions, as the essence of teachings in a given branch of knowledge or in a belief system.

Traditions
Tradition is the body of words and practices by which God’s revealed truth is received, interpreted, and applied by the church. “Tradition” is the usual translation of a New Testament Greek word meaning “to pass down”; so tradition consists of words and practices passed down from one generation to the next. In Scripture, the term “tradition” is used sometimes negatively

The purpose of Doctrine

Sound doctrine is intended to shape and mould the people of God for life and service in the world.
