Redemptions Call. V.1

Redemptions call is to love.
In 3:1 The command was to go love, but in 1:2 the command was to go take. We see a change in relationship and expectations.

In Spite of the Rejection

How do you deal with rejection? It can be difficult with seemingly trifle matters and almost impossible after deep rejection.

In Spite of the Wrongful Rejoicing

Flagons- raisin cakes. These were used in Canaanite rituals. This displayed the carnality and unworthiness of Israel. Our command to love our wives and vise-versa isn’t dependent upon their returned affection.

Redemptions Work V.2

The Act of Redemption

Hosea purchased, to himself, what shouldn’t have needed to be purchased. We find that Hosea shows us the continual demands and requirements of a Godly marriage. We should never get complacent in our relationships and should labor at maintaining and strengthening our relationship.

The Cost of Redemption

Lev 27:4 If the person is a female, the valuation shall be thirty shekels. We see that the purchase price of Gomer was the same as that of a female slave.
We also see, what appears, as Hosea’s struggle to pay the full price.
The fact that Hosea would pay this shows his devotion to God and his love of Gomer.

Redemptions Patience V.3

Fasting for love.

They both abstained from a physical relationship so that their marriage would be strengthened.
As christians we should practice biblical fasting.

Time of Purification. V.4

Hosea recognized that they would both need a tim to heal. As spouses and as believers we should allow time on our lives to purify ourselves before God and each other.
This time of purification is to allow their hearts to be cleared from the defilement of sin.

Redemptions Expectation. V.5

Redemptions Return.

Redemptions Hope
