HOW TO MAKE PRAYER A PRIORITY
Psalm 5
I.) Realize that Prayer Takes Preparation
“Listen to my words, LORD, consider my lament” (Psalm 5:1)
The Lord says: “These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me
with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is based on
merely human rules they have been taught.” (Isaiah 29:13)
II.) Recognize that Prayer is a Personal Relationship
“Hear my cry for help, my King and my God for to you I pray.” (Psalm 5:2)
Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the
right to become children of God… (John 1:12)
III.) Remember to Pray with Positive Outlook
“In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests
before you and wait expectantly.” (Psalm 5:3)

But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is
like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That person should not
expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 Such a person is double-minded and
unstable in all they do. (James 1:6-8)
